  • EIGHT MEGABYTES?! OMG THAT'S SO MUCH POWER MY FACE CAN'T HANDLE IT

  • 95 was a huge upgrade, but 98 SE was much better. I was for long years on it

  • It only took 8MB of space. How much did Vista take for basically the same shit?

  • @AlexKing666 wow, I know right? I never thought of that. I wonder why Operating Systems now take so much space when there's not much of a difference. And even with taking up 2GB on your hard drive, you STILL have to download internet updates. Hmmm.

  • that mac obviously had a dos card in it.

  • lol blue screen at the end lol

  • 4mb's of ram lol oh and can be upgraded to 32mb 's. If back then we told them we could have 32gb's of ram they would have fliped.

  • ring ring hellow

  • system 7 and win 3.1 ftw!

  • Windows 3.1 was my first OS. I remember those great days.

  • See, now we think Apple is expensive. Look about back then! When Windows 95 came out on laptops that used to cost a LOT more than Apple's. Apple's DESKTOPS were cheaper. But when I used to use 95 I was lie WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Now when I use Windows Vista I'm like "uuugh.... save me Mac OS X...." Then it's WOW!

  • 4 Mb of RAM??? WOooooW!!!

  • It sure was BIll Gates is a savior, linux sucks.

  • i tell u Try before comment

  • lol 2:48

    and microsoft still copy apple!!

  • macintosh?

that dude got me pissed off.

i was liking the video until that part.

    but whatever.

  • They may as well have waited until Windows 7.

  • Why is the color so washed out?

  • Thats a pretty dumb question if you think about it.. Look at it like this, the vid is from before the windows 95 release. Go figure out what editing tools you could have on a computer with just a few megabytes of ram.

  • Actually, it was recorded on VHS. So, yeah.

  • Then there is the answer to your question..

  • IT HAZ 8MBS OF RAM !!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Ah, i lived in oregon from 1994-2002...the first 7 years of my life.

Oh, and my love of computers first budded from my dad (Who worked at the now-decomissioned Trojan power plant) teaching me to use '95...

  • If I remember right, the very first version of Windows95 didn't have Internet at all?

  • Internet explorer didnt ship with the orgnal verson. But it was capable of handling the internet.

  • Most of our school's computers used Windows 95 until 2004-ish. Then they were upgraded to Windows 2000. I wish I could run windows 98 on my Vista machine.

  • the same with my towns library. except they upgraded to xp.

  • Wow this hasn't been Commented on for a Month O_o

  • lol they say win 95 will blow the world LMAO!!!

  • I was one year old at the time :D

Lol. I sure wish I was old enough to actually experience it.

  • I was 5 and never experienced it. (though in 2002 (12 years old) I got a small taste of it) My school used Macintosh performas (in 95). I got finally in to computers when I was 9 and was in to the "new imac" now, i'm 18 and i'm in to both. I HATE and may I say HATE the term "fanboy" just shows peoples maturity level. I rather like both. Hell, I can get a MBP and run windows on it! there I got the best of both worlds.....

  • two more work?

  • it was at the time kid

  • You where 2 years old at its time of release!

  • I was actually 5 at the time

  • You have a Macintosh???!!!!

    Macs suck

  • so do you kid go play in traffic

  • So DlimitR, what you doing these days, still working in IT? You had your 15 seconds of fame back then and now its been immortalised with YouTube :)

  • And the officer worker says "so people can do more than thing at a time on the computer"? Lets go back again to the Amiga that could run roughly 5 fully fledged program in 2meg of ram at 14mhz ( much more with more ram ) with no slowing down and was able to display programs of differing resolutions at the same time on the same screen. I didn't move to Windows despite working with it until the year 2000 after Commodore went belly up in 1994. but GREAT Video mate, i did enjoy it, good memories.

  • Its it funny when you made the comment "Its going to blow the operation system world up" because the world was already blown up with what the Commodore's Amiga could do long before Windows. I worked in IT back then doing system builds and software and i could recall seeing everyone lining up here in Australia to buy Windows 95, but to me it was a joke when my Amiga 1200 with only 2meg of ram at 14mhz and could do it all and more with far greater speed, efficiency and reliability.

  • any windows computer is easy to use and crash

  • 1:58 Is that a Macintosh running Windows 3.1!?! 0_0

  • x86 DOS Cards FTW

  • OMG Yes! hahaha -- we were geeks. Yay us.

  • lol even back then they were pc and apple fanboys :)

  • but the fanboys kept quiet. once internet forums came along and the 5 + year development of vista the fan boys came out of the closet and now thats all you see on line

Personaly all of them can just the fuck up. I could care less if you "hate" an inanimate object. I like both end of story

  • I wonder if Windows 95 is covered with the word "Microsoft" like microsoft hardware is.

  • I actually started on Windows 3.11 and did not switch to 95 till over a year after hitting stores. Huge improvement. Good old days.

  • people still think xp is hard to use!!!

  • Did he say it has 4MB ram?

What have we come to, people are using up to like 9GB ram nowadays right?

  • 95 wasn't my first OS but 98 was.

It doesnt really madder because 95 & 98 are both the same thing. (except 98 is integrated with Internet Exploder 4.)

"IT'S GOING TO BLOW THE OPERATING SYSTEM WORLD UP"

    LOL! XD

  • actualy win 95 and 98 are alot different

u just have to look through the os to see the dif

like me i have them both on virtual pcs and there alot difereit

  • 98 is really based on 95. The only difference there is with 98 and 95, is that 98 is tweaked a bit and is integrated with IE.

  • how about you learn to spell :P

Windows 98 was the first official cousemer OS behind Windows 3.1 in 1990. Windows ME on the other hand is really Windows 98 3rd edition. It WAS NOT based on Windows 2000 but rather 98. It was bulit from 98 hence 98 3rd edtion

  • i already knew that. 2000 was NT and me was dos based just like 9X, 3.X, 2.X and 1.X

windows me's full name is windows 98 millennium edition. the thing with windows me is that it has some resources that are in 2000 thats why people think it is windows 2000 home, windows me just has a few fixes in it thats about the only thing also me wasn't suposed to let the bios clock go over the year 2000.

  • Correction its just windows millennium editioon. not connected to 98 at all

  • ok it is 98 it doesnt say that but i found a place were it does and i can't rember were it was so i dont realy care all i care is i hope i never see windows me again becasue i have had realy bad experiences with it even while installing

  • :P They said "It looks alot like that other operating system . . . macintosh :D" lol

  • Was that a BSOD at the end?

  • Wow for like .2 seconds there clearly is a blue screen.

  • No, that was part of the VCR

  • Nerds are useally very good... and i like what you do b^.^d

  • Haha thanks!

    - "ITS GOING TO BLOW THE OPERATING SYSTEM WORLD UP"!

  • fuck you loser

  • they should have had you do a vista one. lol

  • I live in Portland! KATU rulez!

  • amen! if you look closely at their new graphics the new "2" is the same 2 as they has in the past (70s, 80s and 90s) compare this 2 with todays 2

  • wow that takes me back ahhahahaha

  • Why is it so white?

  • Lame video capture :)

  • Really? I thought it was the age of the video.

  • It was actually because of a faulty S-Video -> Composite video adapter. Those little "pigtail" yellow cables that used to be packaged with video cards in the late 1990s. It just didn't quite synchronize the color streams correctly.

Does anyone have a working S-Vid > Composite adapter?

  • Hey, I live in Oregon! I have KATU too! Awesome!

  • FUCK MACINTOSH!!!!

  • *slits wrists*

  • Cool i had to read the comments to find out why anyone would tape it.

  • many people tape old ads from the 80s and 90s. Just search for them on youtube

  • luv it.

  • if you look in the begining when he is turning the computer on they put the start menu on the top put they changed (as a default) because it was too 'mac-like' no affence to windows since ive been using it for a long time and i am very happy w/ it

  • Actually, no -- I put it up there ... to make it more "Mac-like" :) It was always at the bottom since the early alphas.

  • Really ur the gy in the vid??? if its the case thats so cool, and btw i never knew anything about win 95 just wrote that down for fun dident think any1 would read the coment anyway :P

  • is it just me or does this video end in a blue screen? Very appropriate!

  • this was a landmark in computer history

  • Windows 95 is only good for running games that won't run on XP. Heh, thanks for posting this.

  • RFI, thats true, my old win 95 wont work any more, i made a VHD (virtual HD file) of its hard drive and now i can run windows 95 in virtual PC.

I can run old games like wolf 3D.

But it would be better if i could get my ethernet setup to work there.

  • nice!

  • dam Carl you look so youthful!!

  • awww...I remember watching this AT YOUR HOUSE
