  • I wonder if you could do Slim Harpo's "Got Love If You Want It," which was a song copied by many different artists as diverse as The Who (then as The High Numbers, which they sung as "I'm the Face") and The Rolling Stones.

  • Could use a little work but not bad. =)

  • cool improv! It would be interesting to hear this with a band or a backing track.

  • i would like to get into to playing the melodica do i have to know how to play piano somewhat to play it?

  • =] Great.

I play the piano, am in a band, and are about to buy a melodica. Does anyone know how you can tell if a melodica can play multiple notes at once or not? Or do you know a good one to start with? I have blues harps from Hohner, should I get a melodica of this brand?

    Thanks for helping me out.

  • It can play multiple notes at once. You'll notice that the melodica has smaller keys.

Hohner it's a good brand! and you have different models.

One cheaper to start could be S-32, from the student line. I think it comes with a tube so you can put the melodica on the table and play it as a piano.

  • Yes, you can play multiple notes at once, but it sounds most like an accordion if you do. Single notes gives it that harmonica sound to it.

...and honestly, even the cheaply made melodicas sound decent. I got mine for $60, and it sounds identical to any much more expensive tenor melodica I've heard.

  • Nice blues in C

  • Believe it or not, it was.

Not C major, given, but the C blues scale.

  • You be jawmon mon!

Great work. I have on like that, but I can only play one note-ers. :(

  • way cool. we just got melodicas this week too. check out our covers (and subscribe if ya like)

  • Great!!!

A tab for this one should be great!!

    ;)

  • . . . you ARE aware that tabs are created for stringed instruments such as the guitar and bass, correct? They don't work for other instruments.

  • leaving and learning...

    thanks!

  • maybe he meant a gp tab/midi

    cool solo and sound

  • that's right!

  • Nicely done. Mine doesn't sound quite as good.
