It maybe touchscreen, but the its not as amazing as it looks(I was fooled by the coolness) I barely use the touchscreen because the pointer jumps everywhere and it has no pen pressure so its no good for drawing

Also, its really slow, it takes about 5 mins for it to start-up

and its gets crazy hot and so It crashes a lot! I need to put a fan right into the hot spot just to use it.

And now its a year old, It NO LONGER TURNS ON! I ran out of warranty already.

true, thats the downside. right now i have an acer aspire 5515 my first laptop :D and i had problems with windows, my fault not window's, and i got linux. I need my laptop for school right now, and i cant do some of the stuff due to linux. so i need a new one, and this one looks great. it depends on your needs. for example i need the touch screen bcus of the note thing. but if you explain your needs, ill be able to help you more :D

actually, what i noticed was that this laptop is designed for portability. maybe thats why it has such small dimensions. it weights 4.6lb or arround there, which is very good for people who travel a lot. (portability) what are you going to be using it for??

BB has one of these for sale. I was playing around with it a couple of days ago. Its pretty cool in design but they are not cheap per se compared to other notebooks. Its the swivel screen and touch screen abilities that drive up the costs I guess. A fully loaded unit with the best of their offered options comes to $1000-$1100 and thats not factoring in an extended warranty if you want one. Its still a pretty cool model though and technology.

the tx2z sucks, trust me, i just got one horrible processor grainy screen bad battery life gets very hot fan is too loud bad webcam quality finger print reader doesnt work even with 8 gig ram, its very slow internet explorer stops working randomly touch does not work properly not worth its price AMD processors suck HP and COMPAQ suck, too

thats 8 times the clock speed... and im not even getting into the differences between caches and fsb, ect...

the iphone 3gs is actually 633 mhz...it is underclocked to 600mhz to avoid heating issues...one more very important thing - speaking of today.. programs are not present which can fully utilize the potential of dual cores..but yes if you wanna go theoretical then yes it is more than 8 times powerful

That's not true at all, nearly all programs (at least the ones that I use) take advantage of both of my cores. This is in Windows 7 64 bit.

you can get it for 849.99 right now at best buy. and on the display problems you guys are having. all it takes is some good power drivers and port drivers to ensure that it doest overpower the pixels in the display. thats what causes lines, blackouts, and unresponsiveness.

That is SO not true! You seem very misinformed. All you need to do is buy the windows you want to use, make a partition with bootcamp (comes free with macs) and you can run windows too. All you have to pay for is the windows OS.

this is the ideal college student laptop, you can write something with the stylus and then convert it into text document. plus the battery life is great so you don't have to have it plugged in during class. then it also has all the best media stuff so you can listen to music while doing homework if you so desire. i don't know for certain but I'm pretty sure you can draw/sketch on it so it would be the best for art too.

I've had my tx2z for 2 weeks now and love it. Balanced power setting I'm getting over 4 hrs of run time with continuous note taking on the 8 cell battery in windows 7 beta. About 72% on the screen brightness. I bought a powerpad 95 WH external battery which provides me another 5+hrs of runtime. Being extremely conservative I could probably get over 12 hrs continuous use from both battery packs. Great machine. Oh and mine is the ZM-85 processor with 4gig ram and 320gig hdd with wireless N on.
