The original scene was from where Gilbert Blythe is studying to be a doctor (or doing internship), and they had to close the patient back up because their tumor was inoperable. Kinda sad, but yeah, you could just see Doc MacNeil doing something like that had he accepted the invitation to practice in Baltimore.

Its from the first episode the Pilot, towards the end. She gets hurt in the fire that was set in the school.
