Just a minor correction- "Green Dragon" refers to the 405th Squadron of the 38th Bomb Group, the "Sunsetters". Don't recall the names of the other 3 squadrons in the 38th BG.
goede video mooi die oude beelden erbij en dat spannende muziekje op de achtergrond, zou je eigenlijk ook achter de onderwater beelden moeten doen die muziek.
An EXCELLENT job of weaving the past w/the present. Very well done I must say. Many of a B-25 crew member who survived a 'ditch' or crash, only to be picked and executed by the Japanese at Yasukuni (Shrine grounds today) Look into it. I've seen photos. Anyway... Well done video. Thanks for posting.
My great uncle Dick Henrich went down (KIA) with his crew over Wewak, New Guinea; he aimed his B-25 for an anti-aircraft emplacement on the way down, knowing it was his last task. They'll never find his remains, but at least we know what happened to him, thanks to the Pacific War online database, where we found another serviceman who knew what happened. There's hope.
That was a nice bit of film and I enjoyed. Only one negative comment, the surviving crew, other than the commander were not KIA but murdered by the Japanese. I don't think that should be forgotten. It makes their sacrifice all the more poignant.
The Japs were unbelievably savage in their treatment of POW'S. The bastards deserved to get nuked.
