8th MS team is the best of the Gundam series.

This was actually the most tragic scene in the entire series. In war, the line between good and evil are clear, but as soon as you see their human faces, the look of fear in their eyes, those lines blur and fade.

08th MS Team appealed to me the most because it shows the realism and tragedy of war for both sides. Gundams were only machines, and the lowly foot soldier made a bigger difference than an angsty teenager with IMPROBABLE PILOTING SKILLS.

That first Zaku was disabled by a dude with a rocket launcher, had it's gun destroyed by the same dude and the pilot was eventually killed by him...Why the hell are they even fielding these things?! Yes, I know giant mechs are cool, but damn, that thing puts up a worse fight than the very first tanks.

I also like how here the mobile suits arent portrayed as unbeatable mechanisms, but rahter highly specialized war machines.

the video quality is definitely a big improvement.

The sound effects do have any of typical Gundam sounds FX, which is a little weird for those who are used to original sounds.

There was something special about the original sound effects in these shows. The sounds made it a bit cartoonish but they balanced it out with the violence and action of the show, which made it enjoyable to watch. The remastered sound effects are too real. Other than that, everything is fine.

Agreed... this isn't Gundam sound effects... I hate this, it's as bad as the remastered Starwars movies... which I also hated, restoring is great, but remastering is evil.

@Luminahawke Not always - Though remastering something you remember as a kid and enjoyed always has that hit and miss feel to it - Sometimes you like the changes, sometimes they just miss completely and leave you feeling upset.

The original sound effects have that classic charm for sure - but it's not too terrible to me.

@John234pwns RPG fired at the crotch of the zaku sounded like a gun shot and cannons as well had sounds of guns. look for videos of tanks and rpgs like rpg-7 or the smaw and let me know if you hear a difference, i do but who knows maybe it sounds the same to you?

I thought it sounded like a recoiless gun... which just sounds like a cannon, essentially being one. RPGs and such also have quite a sharp "bang" when the initial charge fires, before the booster engine ignites, so yeah, I do think it fits. Look up videos of the "Carl Gustav" and the "RPG-7." Of course, it was strange that it wasn't open in the back to balance recoil...

Well, I guess. But it still sounds like a sharp "bang" like a gun rather than the whistle like most anime use for rocket weapons. Again though, I have no clue why that thing lacks a venturi nozzle.
