  • Is it their human rights to sing hymns in the street? So it is others to have their human rights to have a ferry come seven days a week. The Wee Free behaviour is scandalous!!

  • @clydeferries I don't comment on people's religious beliefs as a rule (see my remarks at the bottom of this chain of comments). But it wasn't scandalous, it was cringeworthy.

  • As much as I agree with the ferry operating I sincerely hope that the Leodhas Sabbath is maintained, its a beautiful thing and a blessing. The Highland Sabbath is still distinct from the rest of Scotland and even Inverness has visable signs of Sabbath observance when compared to the rest of Scotland.

  • @TheTootitoot : Can you speak the Gaelic ? It is not about defending the Leodhas Sabbath but defending The Lord's Day. Break the Fourth Commandment and the rest, little by little are broken. Have you studied the two Westminster Catechisms ?

  • That's the wee frees for you lol

  • Love the comments by Scottiewallace. Nothing like an angry youtube poster to give you a good laugh.

These religious bumpkins should get back to marrying their cousins and let democracy run it's course.

  • Look out , it's the Storno-Qaeda....durka, durka!

  • Oooh! Lots of anger coming out... even a chance to have a go at the English. Just goes to show that wherever they are in the world, extremists, be they racist, nationalist or religious - need treatment, not followers.

  • FREEDOM!!

Down with the western Isle taliban

  • What a ridiculous thing to say.

  • That one went right over your head didn't it petal

  • There's nothing on Lewis but peace and quiet. It's a wilderness.

  • God Bless sunday sailings!!!!! I can visit family on the mainland and be home for work on monday! people who protest against this are hypocrites and they would travel if they had to...we can now travel if we WANT to....yes WANT!!! its up to me if i want to use the ferry on a sunday, not some prick from england who moved here 2 years ago or a minister who i dont listen to.let us make our own descisions and the resyt can piss off to st Kilda where they can start again. thank you and good night.

  • A sailing on a Sunday makes it possible for people to visit their families or relatives over a weekend, and still be back at work on Monday morning. Similarly, people can now go to sports fixtures on the mainland and be back in the island on time for work on Monday as well.

  • Yet again alot of English incomers milling around aimlessly!

  • Are they not being a tad hypocritial, protesting on said 'sabbath?'

    Blessed are the cheesemakers.

  • is that not breach of the peace? imposing themselves on innocent people, we dont go to the church and start singing outside there, each to there own, if you dont like something then dont come and watch it?

  • Outmoded religions should not dictate the availabilitiy of services and good for the secular and nominally religious majority.

  • I don't see that having the ferry running on Sunday is irreligious. Everything else is open and running, even sports. If more people come to Lewis on their day off rit's going to help your economy. Good luck to it, I hope it's well used! xx

  • I think that the fact that we now have a Sunday ferry is indicative that we are very much in the 21st century.

I cannot comment on people's individual religious beliefs.

  • About time Lewis and Stornaway moved into the 21st century!
