I happen to have a double lp issued by the French Vogue label and I remember it being the first time I ever heard Clifford Brown. Art Farmer was also in that Hampton band in France at the time.

Brownie left an indelible impression on me as a young trumpet player myself (at the time).

As you probably know these guys were in Paris as part of a Lionel Hampton band at the time.

Yes, they recorded with jazz musicians based in Paris almost every night without getting permission of Lionel Hampton.
