  • No "Stone Cold" and Ultimate Warrior ARE from different eras.

You cant add his other "persona" because it's a totally different character.

If Rock and Sting (bladerunners) faced the RoadWarriors they would have gotten their asses whipped, no questions asked.

Now if "Ultimate Warrior" and Sting faced LOD then we would have had a classic regardless to the winner.

My point is, all of these guys have history. You have to be specific when discussing a match because it DOES make a difference.

  • They both rely too much on the crowds reactions and the crowd that cheered Warrior would boo Austin and the crowd that cheered Austin would boo Warrior....these guys relied too much on their ERA to ever meet up and have a decent match because they're from two different eras.

  • No I dont think so.

Ultimate Warrior's fast paced style wouldnt fit Austin's "pick you apart" style, and verbally Austin would make Warrior look like a goof.

Bad matchup all the way around.

  • ummm actually HHH was the 97 king of the ring lol just a year after Austin... just putting that out there haha

  • "get that peice of crap outta my ring" CLASSIC!

  • 4:15 onwards -> SO TRUE

  • STUNNED

  • JR knew

  • The crowd dosent know that Stone Cold will be one of the most famous wrestler in the history!

  • Way better than his Ring Master persona.,,

  • Nobody at the time knew. They didnt like him, I didnt like him but the win that night was the beginning of the new 3:16 era.

  • As i said!

But what made him so famous anyway?

He become "face" after this match?

Because only a year after this match...everyone liked him!

  • He was different. Everybody was "eating their vitamins & saying their prayers" and Austin had an outlaw attitude that most people could relate to. Why d'you think Tupac is famous. He may not be a "role model" so to speak but he is popular, dead or alive.

  • Two of my favorite wrestling legends! This was a passing of the torch!

  • This was the out with the old, in with the new.

What people dident realize then was the begining of a whole new era of WWF in that single match.

  • no one anticipated it.. did u?? i doubt it

  • wwe

  • grande el vdeo donde consigo mas en español

  • Austin did indeed mutter "piss off"

  • Is it just me or does he say piss off at 4.00?

  • lol yes he does.

  • stone cold steve austin is the best wrestler in the world. He rocks! thank you Bm seditor for making this

  • I wish Austin would got this break he wanted a bit earlier, like around 92 or something, cause he would have had a longer time in WWE than just eight years and remember, Austin's career was cut short cause of his neck injury, Austin was not meant to compete he was told he wud never wrestle again but cutting his career short to only being in wwe for 2 years, austin wans tgonna settle with dat, so he continued.

  • man could cut one fuck of a promo..that theme music is hilarious tho!

  • brilliant....

  • mclovin hell yeah you are damn right

plus cena sucks he makes wrestling sucks

  • to all you cena fans this is wrestling history right here

    AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE

  • cause stone cold said so

  • CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO

  • This is where it started, Wrestlemanic. This promo started it all.

  • Get that piece of crap outta my ring! Stone Cold is the man.

  • BREAKING NEWS:Stone Cold Steve Austin will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 4

  • a star was born right there!

  • I don't know what Joe Laurenitis has to do with it, but Steve Austin was his REAL ring name.

  • People tend to forget that his ring name was 'The Ringmaster' in the beginning of his WWF (or 'E') stint and he was the Million dollar champion.

  • My man, I wasn't even addressing u...

  • OH YEA...i forgot that.

  • fuck the Spanish commentators they ruined the video.

  • classic

  • i was up in the nose bleeds for this pay per view in milwaukee. what a night. Michaels went right over my head to get to the ring against Davey Boy right after this match

  • did they say doc hendrix thats fuckin michael hayes

  • that was his gimmick at the time

  • Yaeh carlos & hugo speaks

  • i swear theres like 20 comentators

    it's like a big argument

  • fuckin spics!

  • When did Austin debut as "Stone Cold Steve Austin"?

Like when was the first time he came out not as the Ringmaster?

Anyone have the video or as least the date?

  • Don't really know for sure, but his wife and him were setting drinking tea or coffee, he was trying to come up with a name and she told him to drink it before it got stone cold...

  • THATS TRUE....that how they got the name STONE COLD...and WHO KNEW THAT THIS GUY WOULD BE GOING IN THE HALL AND BECOMING A LEGEND!!!

AUSTIN 3:16 SAYS IM GOING TO THE HALL OF FAME

  • yep i read that in his book

  • wwe is not the same anymore, i do miss the way it was back then

  • Who doesn't?

  • And that is how everything begins...

  • WWf is better than WWE today

  • History made at 3:16...literally lol

  • Best Promo EVER!!! Stone Cold forever!!!

  • "This may be only the beginning for that young man!"

    Yeah, something like that. :)

  • Cause Austin's 3:16 says he just whooped someones ass

  • The stupid spanish announcers ruined the video.

  • STUNNA!

  • You didn't make it. No shit!

  • doc hendrix!! he worked for wwf & was manager of the hardy boyz

  • dork hendrix was the freebird

  • the first thing I want u to do is to get that piece of crap out of my ring

  • LMAO @ 4:02

    "piss off"

  • and a million shirt sales were born lol 3:16

  • WWE Legend vs WWE Legend

  • Listen between 1:44-1:53.

It sounds like the commentator has really described the true future.

  • wow it didn't take him long to become famous, damn is he good

  • didnt take him long...it took him almost eight years to get his big ticket to the top..

96 was the beginning of his run. He didn't win the belt up until 98. But he was the man that they were looking to put over.

WCW didn't know how to market Steve Austin...and WWE let him be himself...and look where it got him. This man is a Legend and a future WWE hall of famer. the mid 90's was a great time to be a wrestling fan. It was fun funny and damn good wrestling.

  • it wasn't that wcw didnt know how they just didn't want to. So much politics between flair and hogan.

  • wow how old was jake back then? cuz in that match he looks really old and out-of-shape. it's like wtf is that guy doing in a wrestling ring?

  • That would be Michael PS Hayes, although then he was known as "Handsome" Dok Hendrix.

  • "austin 3:16 says i just whooped you're ass" classic

  • you said thumped your bible and you said your prayers and it didn't get you nowhere! LMAO!!!!

  • This match to me was like a torch passing from Jake the Snake to the Rattlesnake man!Same cold calculating and intense nature were your not quite sure what they are going to do next even though Wrestling is scripted.Thats great psycholgy. These two against each other in there prime would have been a great feud.

  • I dont think even Steve knew this was coming and knew how big he was going to be.His words are even more powerful now hes done. When he first said Steve Austins time has come and 3:16 nobody including Steve knew he would be the phenominon he eventually became.

  • Who expected one line to create a monster push and one of greatest eras in wrestling history.A mediocre ppv built around the in ring preformance and mic abilty of Steve Austin. He made this ppv the rest of the wrestlers were just props.

  • The speech that started it all.

An absolute fucking classic...and thats the bottom line. To Think this was in milwaukee of all places...awesome!! \m/

  • Pause at 3:19 you can see the hatdys at the door.

  • ??????? In the yellow and purple suits????

  • Stone Cold has got the intensity back in the old days, and this video clip proves that.

  • i am proud to say that the start of the greatest era in wrestling history began in my hometown of millwaukee wisconsin thank you wwf for the austin 3:16 era

  • this was the begining of the greatest era in wrestling

  • stone cold was a SICK heel when he first entered the WWE.. it's too bad his second heel turn when he joined McMahon didn't work out the way they wanted it to..

  • It´s sad that WWF never let Jake win ANY title. Atleast he had many great feuds.

  • if he laid off the drugs and boose he would've mcmahon has admitted this in the movie beyond the mat

  • I was named after Jake the snake and my mom X boy friend IS STEVE ASTIN

  • jake the snake made austin famous

  • And Austin knows that. He said in an interview he always thanks Jake Roberts for cutting that religious promo on him and teaching him in-ring psychology.

  • in his primejake the snake was super cool

  • austin was a heel then

  • Yes he was.

  • Stone Cold ROCK!!! =D

    3:16 live's on ^^

  • Wins like Austin, Edge HHH, Lesnar, Angle, Owen Hart, Bret Hart, Harley Race (The King), Randy (Macho King) Savage, and King Booker told WWE fans you were a going to be a brand's champion, a big money, a great money maker or a respected worker. Or all four. There has been a few flops (i.e. King Mabel, Mister Ass) but if you win King of the Ring that is the office telling you "we believe in you and you're going to matter."

  • so william regal will get the push now. give me break!!!!!!!!

  • Thank god they got the bs winners pretty much figured out now. i don't think wwe will let a mid carder win the KOTR again...I hope anyway.

  • yeah like 98 when shamrock beat the rock in the final i meen come on the rock went on to be a wwf legend whilst shamrock left a year later

  • man look how weird the Stunner looks without the set-up kick lol

  • it looks betta

  • Wow, this is iconic.

  • austin stunner force to retire jake roberts in professional wrestling

  • The stunner is so much better when Austin kicks them 1st!

  • Austin 3:16 says "I jss whooped ur ass" listen to da video man!! its there!

  • i forget, y did people go from loving austin to hating him?

  • they never really hated him...

  • its john 3:16 in the bible

  • The day the Austin/ Attitude era started

  • Wins like Austin, Edge HHH, Lesnar, Angle, Owen Hart, Bret Hart, Harley Race (The King), Randy (Macho King) Savage, and King Booker told WWE fans you were a going to be a brand's champion, a big money, a great money maker or a respected worker. Or all four. There has been a few flops (i.e. King Mabel, Mister Ass) but if you win King of the Ring that is the office telling you "we believe in you and you're going to matter." And the tradition continues this Monday on RAW.

  • punk won the mitb dude. don't get greedy.

  • Yeah, he wasn't schedule to win MITB either.

  • los comentaristas q ablan en español trabajaban desde esos años woooooo!!

  • You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere! Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16... Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!

  • Jake also forgot to take his vitamins too

  • After this,a legend was born.

  • wat is 3.16 mean ?

  • okay will people shut up about austin coming back? His wheels are fucked and he doesnt like wwes booking thats why hell never do a match. Coach was booked to beat him and Lesnar was booked to beat him...etc. he said fuck that so whoever keeps whining on every vid about austin please return its wishful thinking and he aint coming back not for you not for his knees and especially not for bad angles.

  • whoa... coach was booked to beat him? ugh...

that in itself would discourage me from coming back.

  • thats why he no showed at Taboo Tuesday and Batista faced coach, notice they added vader and goldust to the match to spice it up a little to gain petty interest.

  • yeah... i remember batista and the last minute vader/goldust additions. in any case, i'd do the same if COACH were booked to beat me.

  • yea

  • fuck that kid at 1:33 he doesnt know real talent

  • Where's Jim Ross at 1:05?

    "STUNNER, STUNNER, STONE COLD STUNNER!"

"THE RATTLESNAKE, THE RATTLESNAKE, THE RATTLESNAKE!"

    LOL! Just Kidding..

  • "austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!"

  • This is the interview that made him become one of the top WWF/WWE superstras

  • Wow, when wrestling was without too many interferences.

  • The night a legend was made.

  • Austin made his speech from the middle of the UWM Student Section.

  • No, they used to cheer that loudly in WWE. Not anymore...

  • wuz au5tin a heel?

  • Yes.

  • Austin was meant to be the WWE's top heel. But because of his rebelliousness and obscene gestures & language, he became an anti-hero.

  • WELL SAID BRO!

  • Thank you

  • Wow its so weird to hear this shitty music instead of the glass shattering and blasting music and hear him being booed. And it seems like the "Austin 3:16" was a throwaway line.

  • Wow its so weird to hear this shitty music instead of the glass shattering and blasting music and hear him being booed. And it seems like the "Austin 3:16" was a throwaway line.

  • Actually the austin 3:16 line was a throw away line, it was supposed to gain him more heat as a heel, but the next night raw, everyone had austin 3:16 signs, I mean who knew

  • COME BACK PLEASE I BEG OF U!!!

  • I want him to come back too!, but he has a bad neck. injuries suck

  • the birth of Austin 3:16! He seemed so much more lethal during 96.

  • stone cold, the rock please COMEBACK!!!!!!!!!!.

  • is that both english and spanish commentating @ the same time?

  • its the begining of SCSA, and jake the snake is garbage lol

  • Notice dat he was booed through-out but when he delivered the punchline "Austin 3:16 says that i just whipped ur ass" he got cheered.

  • "Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16...Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!"

Lol, I like how the commentators are saying things like, "come on now, that's not necessary" LOL

  • WoW I remember that PPV. I think every die hard WWF fan at the time knew something special was happening with Austin just by the language and tone he was allowed to use in this promo. This was basically Austin's last shot at big-time stardom in wrestling and he came thru huge.

  • ye i agree with u at the PPV like u said every1 new somethin special was gona happen

  • stone cold it's a bad guy.welldone 3:16

  • Legend.

One of the greatest moments in WWE history. Gives me goosebumps still.
