@Andyproscooter I haven't actually got that, so I'm not too sure, but so long as you can use some form of chroma keying, it should work. Just try googling something like adobe "premiere elements chroma key" and that should help.
@ILuvSelGomez1012 Well, the easiest way would be to get footage with a green background, then use the green screen effect. Just search for a tutorial on youtube, it's too hard to explain through text.
@williamp190596 Sorry, I'm on mac, so I'm not entirely sure. But do you mean when it comes up with the window saying "Would you like to save or open this file?" Or something along the lines of that? If so, yeah choose save, and download it as whatever comes up first. I'm pretty sure you should be able to extract the footage from the winrar file then.
@SirMisterD I can't say I've ever tried it, but I know iMovie has a green screening option. However, it can only key out green. So if you have an explosion with a green background, then you're in luck. If not, you could play around with the colour settings and try changing whatever colour the background is to green, if that makes sense. Here's a tutorial on green screening in iMovie anyway watch?v=8pS5_Z_2eKA
@SirMisterD Oh, sorry, should've told you. YouTube won't allow comments with full links, in case people spam links everywhere, so just type the normal youtube address, add then add /watch?v=8pS5_Z_2eKA
@Tommy2man After Effects and Premiere are separate programs. So to use premiere, you don't need After Effects. Same goes for After Effects, you don't need Premiere for it. They are both by the same company however, so they do look similar. I only showed them both in the video so that if someone doesn't have After Effects, they can watch the premiere tutorial, etc.
@Billofbong Click on the little dropdown arrow next to the fire layer, goto transform, then click the clock next to position. Go ahead some frames to the next part of the movie where you want to move the fire to, and click and drag the fire, to its new position. Now, go back to the part of your movie where you first clicked the clock, watch it, and it should move.
@Billofbong Oh, that's okay. Well I haven't actually used Final Cut for a while now, so it'd probably be a better idea just to do a YouTube search for Final Cut Keyframe tutorial or something like that. If you know how to keyframe, then you'll know how to make the fire move.
@FishRFrenzNotFood Thanks! I think I was 12 or 13 when I made this, so it's funny listening back 1 year on hearing how high my voice used to be. It's quite embarrassing really :P
@HeapsGoodProductions i'm using my new labtop and my volume is on max and i geuss its too quiet, sowy i was just really frustrated because i'm trying to add an explosion to my video and i cant seem to friggen make the explosion black background NOT black, so i am unable to overlap it, i tried that color key thing but i changed it to the color you did but it did nothin, i'v tried like 50 tutorials, im using cs4, do you know what my mistake might be? thx
@MyBrainGoBoom Well it's hard to explain in words, so watch this tutorial, I'm fairly sure it explains the basics /watch?v=58-88FBWuS0 (just add that to youtube dot com)
can you please tell me how to put the effect on adobe after effetcs can u mak a little cam studio tutorial thing please when i try to import the file from detonation films it wont work please help ? please
@Jaldape18 Well, I can really only help by saying, watch this video. If you follow each step I say, it should work, otherwise, I' really not sure what to do, sorry.
@Jaldape18 OH, WAIT! I just realized I didn't cover on how to import it in the video, sorry :) All I do, is I find the fire effect that I've downloaded off detonation films in finder if your on a mac, or windows explorer if your on windows, then drag it straight into after effects. Hopefully that helps :D
@cutesweetcheeks I dount it. I never have, and I know a lot of people use that website and I've never heard of any-one getting viruses. So I highly doubt you will, but if you do, just please don't sue me =P
@saleens11 I think there may be, but you'll have to have a chroma key/green screen sorta plug in effect. I'm not sure if you can download something like that, and if it's even any good, but have a look around and you might find it somewhere. Then just watch my tutorial and it should give you an idea on how to do it (f you even can.)
Thanks a million for the upload, the effects on the site are pretty awesome. Quick question though, where you edited the effects using something called ''After Effects''. Is this free? Or is there a free version I can get of it? Looks good, but I don't have it. Same for Premier Pro. I do have a few other video editors however, but they look good for this. Especially the After Effects. Looks kind of vital for the effects from the site.
Only if the explosion has a green background, then you can drag the explosion over the footage you're using in the time line, and choose green screen. That's the only way I know of.
Oops, sorry I mean the "threshold" Just fiddle around with the amounts because it depends on the explosion your using, so it'll be different every time. You'll mainly have to change the threshold, but changing the "edge Thin" and "edge Feather" can help as well.
Well I don't really wanna make a tutorial just for that, because, for one, everything you've said and done should've worked, and two, my process of mkaing tutorials takes aaages. Maybe if I work out an easier way of making them, I'll make a tutorial on that. But in the mean time try googling stuff like "How to import files in After Effects" and all that, cause I don't think I can help any further, besides suggesting what I've already said, sorry.
That's strange, it should've worked. Try instead of clicking on import, just drag the explosion in from your desktop or wherever you downloaded it to, straight into after effects.
Ohk. Well if you are on a PC, then right click and then click on "extract all files", or something similar to that. If you are on a mac, just double click the zip folder.
Well, firstly of all, don't drag a video into a layer, drag it into the timeline above whatever you already have in there, cause u can't have multiple videos in layers in after effects. And secondly of all, I've already answered someones question about this, so I'll just copy and paste the answer...
Well, when you click on window, in the toolbar, is "Preview" ticked? If not, tick it. Once it's ticked, find the window that's now appeared called "preview". Somewhere in there, there should be an arrow pointing right, with 3 bars behind it. Click that, and then your movie will be rendered. Click it again to watch your video. Now it should be playing with sound. If it isn't, have you clicked the box with the sound icon, to the left of the layer that contains sound?
As long as Vegas has chroma keying effects, which I'm fairly sure it does, and you know how to use them, if you don't, just google something like "Chroma keying in sony vegas 9.0", then you should be able to.
@HeapsGoodProductions how do i make the fire move with each frame without making it look chopy??? lk how do i make the fire move smoothly with the person while the camera is moving????
OK. Well you see the two layers, one with the filmed footage, one with the explosion, is the explosion layer above the filmed layer? If not, move the explosion to the top of the layers.
Ohk. Well, when you click on window, in the toolbar, is "Preview" ticked? If not, tick it. Once it's ticked, find the window that's now appeared called "preview". Well I don't encourage pirating/torrents, etc. I reckon you should buy it, cause you can get some really good deals on some websites. And I wouldn't know how to get it free anyway, and there's always the chance of getting caught, which could lead to huge fines.
'm not entirely sure, cause I don't have Sony Vegas, sorry. However, like I said in the video, as long as you can key out solid colors in it, you'd be able to do this. I'd suggest watching the after effects part in this tutorial, and just see if you can work it out for yourself. Just look for a keying out effect.
Yeah, you could get as good as that on after effects and them, but final cut is quicker and easier. Except sometimes the black outline looks cool over the fire

hey mate, i am trying to put different video clips together but it keeps freezing in windows movie maker, would i be able to do it with this program?

You could do it with any of these programs, they wouldn't freeze up, unless you have a really slow computer or something.

nice tutorial! like the Final Cut it got the best effect with the fire :P
Hansi1230 2 years ago
Yeah, you could get as good as that on after effects and them, but final cut is quicker and easier. Except sometimes the black outline looks cool over the fire
