@checkers1245 The rotisserie makes a noise like a wolf howl @0:56 and @1:10. I really am sorry it is not more exciting. I'm shocked this have over 10K views
The squeak is the Spit-bearing..as 2-metals are used--they become very "buffed" and then cause the squeak--mines louder that that--because I use mine for 13-LB. turkey's alot--I'm going to search for some TEFLON[tm]..that may be applied--as a layer for theSpit--to rest on.
I have a brand-new deluxe nickel edition and I notice that the rotisserie bearings are now teflon. So it appears that Ronco has addressed the squeaking issues.
Just bought this same rotisserie at a garage sale this weekend. Lady who sold it to me said that I needed to grease the inside so that it doesn't squeak. I noticed that your unit did make a squeaking sound as it turned. Do you add grease to the inside and if you do - where exactly do you add it?
So what r the advantages cook'n with this vs ummm say, buy'n a cooked chicken @ the store for $4? Especially considering the following:
1) Time prep'n food to fit
2) Time/resources clean'n the unit
3) Energy used for cooking
4) $250+ price tag
Even if chicken's on sale @ $2...wouldnt the energy consumed during cooking negate the savings? Plus u have to prep & clean! For $250 + energy costs u could buy a lot of precooked rotisserie chickens from the store for less cost & hassle!
I bought 4 different rôtisseries. The problem with the Ronco, is that there is no temperature control. Consquently, the outside of my chicken cooks way too fast. The skin get burned too soon. So I cover the bird with aluminum foil and let it turn for one hour before I take it off and let it rotate for another hour without the aluminum foil. I find i gets complicated. Not a good machine.
Here's the restaurant 'secret' for fall-off-the-bone ribs : remove white 'film' on the underside of the rib. Take it off completely.
After that, put the ribs in dutch oven, baste with bbq sauce and let cook (covered) for 1:30 h. After that, they will already be extremely tender and juicy.
Next, take cover off. Put dutch oven on lower rack of your oven. Baste more sauce, set your oven to 'broil' for 15-30mn, o until desired 'crust' on the ribs.
I bought a rotisserie and they are the most addicting things to watch. But the end result is well worth it, Super Juicy meats without the fat. Set it and forget it!
you're supposed to set it and forget it! not record it!

But when you cook at home you're sure it is clean and you know the ingredients that you're using.
Energy to cook is less than watching tv, so if you want so save energy stay away from the tv...

I think a rotisserie is a really morbid Ferris wheel for chickens. We will take a chicken, impale it, and then rotate it.

u didnt use the word morbid correctly! morbid means dead, not big lol.

The most tender ribs you'll ever have.
