Video game review - the Terminator for the Sega Genesis

The collision detection is awful (see the trying to jump over the crawling terminator in factory final stage) which means if you take the wrong turn you have to start the ENTIRE GAME AGAIN because you have no lives or continues.

It was a piece of shit with crap graphics (that were AMIGA-ish) and looked extermely dated for 1993 (after Alien3 Jurrasic Park/Aladdin- Mega Drive/Genesis masterpieces).

Well at least ROBOCOP VS TERMINATOR Genesis/Mega Drive 1994 was better.

@MrBOPESquad2 That was the whole point in the last level! You had to get past before you blew his legs off, so the 1 life made sense seeing it was a short game. It came out before alien 3 . You wouldn't know what decent a game is! The music was also spot on, It's one off the best movie and terminator games

actually I've found ONE difference between the difficulties. In the first level once you infiltrate the base to your right there is machine gun next to you (only on easy) and on the other difficulties there isn't that machine gun. nothing else is different though.

actually you can shoot the guys on the stairs and kill them I've done it before.

Also you can jump over the crawling terminator but if you're a centimeter too close or a centimeter too far away you're gonna get hit either going up or on the landing but I've jumped him plenty of times.

You can pull the same trick in the last level if you run into a dead end. If you are at full health you should be able to take 1 sucker punch and bounce by/past the terminator.

About encountering enemies on the stairs in level 3; Whenever an enemy bumps into you, you will *always* bounce back in the opposite direction of the one you are facing. So what you need to do when you encounter an enemy on those stairs, is simply turn around and face the other way. He will bump into you and you will bounce back, past the enemy and up the stairs. You will need to have enough health to be able to take the hit of course...

Hunter Killers are the Planes and the large robots with the treaded wheels. They patrol (hunt) then exterminate (kill) when they locate. Search & destroy AKA hunt & kill. The terminators are more like garrison, security & infiltration. I figured the terminators in the first mission were of an earlier series. The T-800 design was state of the art. It wasn't arnold in the bunker. He's the model 101 meaning there was 100 skin variations before his and I'm sure his wasn't the last.

Great review. Those older games still crack me up though with the jerky graphics. My my video games have come a long way since SEGA and Super NES.

They made Reese's coat white! It lo0ks like a lab coat. It's actually an OD green Vietnam War era US-issue officer's rain coat (you can find them at any Army surplus store for cheap). I wonder how many video game characters were based on Michael Biehn other than Solid Snake. XD

Terminator is done. Now it's time to milk it. It's a genesis game. How good could it be? It sasn't bad for it's time. Most people don't understand that Arnold is the 101st skin mold which is molded to an 800 series skeleton. So they think all T-800s look the same even though his skin mold is not the first nor last. During the original timeline they had no choice but to destroy the time machine when they destroyed everything else. Don't know if they ever salvaged it.

The Terminator infiltrator shown in the first film when Reese is recollecting about the time the photo of Sarah got burned up, that infiltrator actually wasn't Arnold (though it's hard to tell since the actor's face is almost always in shadow).
