@coreymaggette Nothing to do with race. Disney World has a policy against any visible tattoos. If you're going to hate them for not hiring you, at least hate them for the right reason.
Being a cast member is so fun, I work on Soarin at Epcot and I love except in the busy season. If you want to be a cast member except to get yelled at ALOT especially in the busy season you have to mentally prepare yourself for some guest. you get things thrown at you yelled at pushed and some even try to hit you. the pay sucks but its the experience and people you meet thats worth it.
well when you first start for example as a character you get payed only 6.50 an hour. but you make 500 starting a week as a dancer. i want to be a dancer.
as a castmember i can say that some of the "costumes " are a bit on the uggo side, but on the plus...polyester dries VERY quickly!lol good for the everyday rain showers
I worked in medicine of tomorrow in EPCOT in Inoventions West in 00. I had to wear teal pants with a matching vest with an x-ray on the back!!!! With a black TURTLENECK under it. A turtleneck in FL is unnatural!
Disney World costuming is crazy. I think some of the costumes are pretty and/or cool, but then there are some that are just plain hideous. Animal Kingdom I think has the worst... Although I do like the Expedition Everest outfits.
Nice! I was only there for four months. I got to wear the lovely button up white shirt with yellow sleeves covered in sketches of Mickey. When I got the right size the shirt wasn't so bad -- the ugly, faded, never fit right, washed out, ugly, black cargo pants gave me issues. Don't even get me started on never finding a belt!
Then went back on spring break in 1999 and worked at Animal Kingdom for a few days. Dashiki and cap when I filled in at Tamu Tamu, and a sarong and vietnamese hat (think the Huge coneshaped ones). Did i mention that i am 6'2", red hair, VERY white. stuck out like a sore thumb.
Boy, This brings back memories! I was a College program CM in 1997. Fantasyland foods. Pea green Pants, Ruffled faux-linen (polyester) shirts, sewn on suspenders with pink and yellow flowers on them. lovely. I worked in a snowcone stand, and guests would always ask if we had trouble getting the stains out of our shirts. I always used to tell them the Fairy Godmother did my laundry. She must have some magical detergent or something...
Isn't that music PeeWee? LOL, I wore the MuMu in Africa on my CP for almost 9 months...I hated it. I'm going on another program in August in Ops...who knows what I'll end up wearing! AHHHH!
Guys, at least you didn't have to wear costumes that were supposed to 'represent' your nationality. I worked in World Showcase, EPCOT. Everyday people would have a smart-arse comment about nobody wearing what I did in the 'real' United Kingdom.. well, duh!
I just got done with my college program, and I worked at PI. People used to complain about our costumes all the time, but I would just think about the flame tree/pizzafari costumes and that would shut me up real quick!

Cast members wearing shorts is just a bad idea. I can't believe Disney finally caved in and let cast members start wearing shorts. People don't want to see their chubby unnattractive legs. Please Disney...get strict on the dress codes again. It's for the greater good. Please ignore the whinning cast members that think exposing a chunk of their legs actually cools them off when it's 100 degrees out.
u gotta be joking me!!! i worked at the speedway and trust me, wearing shorts helped alot. and the shorts arent short shorts, they go just below the knee...dont talk about what you dont know
Yeah man...Disney's Animal Kingdom Park Greeter costumes (toward the end with the yellow shirt and maroon shorts) look baaaaaad. And I don't mean good.
I assume you work there, and they cold be worse for sure, but you are right. Also, I should note that I work for Disneyland in California--hence the teal pants comment.
There's a lot of "bad show" displayed in these pictures

Haha, you caught the 'characters' w/o their heads.
You also missed a bunch of the outfits. Especially the hotels, some of those 'costumes' are ridiculous.
