This amuses me because in all the church hopping experiences i have had, it is the "Mormon-people" who have the better knowledge of the Bible than most others. Only Jehovah's Witnesses seem to have a comparable knowledge of biblical verse. In my experience almost all Protestants believe something is "in teh bible" not beacuse they read it themselves, or the chapter it is in, but because their Pastor told them it was and told them to think that way.

The Book of Mormon has one supposed son of Zedekiah (Mulek) living and in the Americas (Heleman 8:21). The Bible tells us in Acts 2:34-35 and 3:20-21 that Jesus is to remain in heaven after his ascension "until" his foes are made his footstool, and "until the times of restitution."
The Book of Mormon has Him appearing in the Americas after his ascension (3 Nephi 10:18-19).

This amuses me because in all the church hopping experiences i have had, it is the "Mormon-people" who have the better knowledge of the Bible than most others. Only Jehovah's Witnesses seem to have a comparable knowledge of biblical verse. In my experience almost all Protestants believe something is "in teh bible" not beacuse they read it themselves, or the chapter it is in, but because their Pastor told them it was and told them to think that way.

The similarities are few and those that are similar have different meanings. Joseph Smith affirmed that these similarities and said they were because the Masons had a bastardized versions of the rights of the Temple of Solomon and that God has used Masonry to prepare his mind for the further, greater revelations of the Temple.

@WayneTheWriter I know plenty of Mormons, i have mormon friends, i dated a mormon, i live 5 miles from a polygomist colony. i have seen over 50 baptisms. I can still testify that mormonism is declining rapidly. Ever since people found the internet as a source to find stuff quickly they have found that mormonism is not the way they want to go.

A well educated mormon would agree with me. An average mormon may agree or not agree with me. I would urge you to read Jesus The Christ by James E Talmage. (Most mormons doesn't read it!).

@WayneTheWriter Ill tell you something pretty cool. about one year ago i wanted nothing to do with God, i went to church forcefully. compared to today, i am going to church without force, i go to bible study monday and tuesday, and go to youthgroup wednesday. there is only one bad thing, i need to fill thursday friday and saturday!!!!

@jbuzzell70 The famous quote that anti-mormons uses is Gal 1:6-8, but they had missed the point about "another gospel". We don't have another gospel, and we never had believed in another gospel. The Book of Mormon is NOT another gospel. Gospel means good news, good news is that Jesus IS THE Christ. Perhaps that verse should be refered to Mohammed? Their religion are completely different from Christianity? No?

@jbuzzell70 There are no contradictions between BOM and Bible, and no, the BOM never taught that Adam is God, however it was a theory from Brigham Young. It was never and has been a doctrine. I used to be an anti-mormon until I've read it all and found some evidence that you will never understand until you're willing to trust God. Here;s a challenge, ask God if the bible is true, you'll get a yes, and then ask God if the BOM is true, you'll get the same answer. Exactly the same answer.

The writer of the Book of Mormon was simply wrong.

The Book of Mormon misses that by several thousand miles and nearly 100 years in having believers in Christ called Christians in 73 B.C. (Alma 46:15).

The Book of Mormon has one supposed son of Zedekiah (Mulek) living and in the Americas (Heleman 8:21). The Bible tells us in Acts 2:34-35 and 3:20-21 that Jesus is to remain in heaven after his ascension "until" his foes are made his footstool, and "until the times of restitution."
The Book of Mormon has Him appearing in the Americas after his ascension (3 Nephi 10:18-19).
