Why does everything have to have a music track? No music can hold a candle to the SOUNDS THOSE CARS MAKE! Why not use that? (Unless the film was silent, that is -- the only acceptable reason for using anything else!)
I was a spectator at the corck-screw during the '72 and '73 races.Nothing has ever equaled that kind of racing in my book.Ok......F1 was quicker.....but I saw 2 uopshadow can-ams vs 2 F1 shadows at Laguna Seca,lunch time entertainment.
Of course the F1's won,but they were blown away for the first lap and a half

The Porshe 917 Can Am car is to date the most powerful race car in the world.
Only car that can match it would be the Brabham f-1 car with the 1,5 Litre BMW
turbocharged engine in the early eighties.Wish i was on the stands & watching
this race when it took place 1972! Poor Mark Donohue had to recover from his
broken leg ,but George Follmer did good job in his place though. 917 FTW!!

Great memories from a race I attended. I slept in the back of a Rambler wagon at nearby Plymouth Rock Camping Resort.
