Well I just checked again and it was power and the button with the lines think it means settings,

and the upgrade uboot is power and volume + button :-)

I couldn't get the files since Megaupload is down. I got the google services thing but it wont install. I downloaded 3 different ones. I used Zroot and al that on the video. it fails to install every time

@qbertaddict1 I know others may find it helpful when they eventually need it, but luckily enough I must of grabbed it last week as I found it in my download folders. My YDPG18 came today so I just finished rooting it and the market is going in next. Thanks again for these informative posts.

Somehow my Android Market doesn't look usual, it opens right to the top paid or top free apps and lists only 2-3 applications, and most things i search it doesn't find though i know it's there

@HaohmaruHL This might sound werid but uninstall only the market and reinstall it. Everything should be back to normal.

@babyjokes250 It is up to you. I enjoy it but I like to tinker with things to make them do what I want them to do. The chinese pmp market is not for everyone. If you are willing to get your hands dirty you can have a lot of fun.

@qbertaddict1 Hey man got a weird problem... I decided to wipe my yinlips as per the instructions in your video. But not the stock emulators don't work. When I try to start a game, the always says the application has stopped unexpectedly please try again. I would just uninstall them and get them off the market, but I cant uninstall any of them. your help would be really appreciated...

Thanks for taking the time to record this tutorial and post it on YT. This helps a lot. I understand how much work goes into getting this clips created, but it really helps to have these for tablets from overseas like Yinlips. I've had my own problems in getting access to full Android Market, so this can be a pain.

I also find it helps to get android apps from Amazon Appstore, but this only works if you live in the US.

Maybe this is a stupid question but why do you have to rest everything to stock in order to do this?

@123woki You don't. I did it to show people how to get into recovery and because I wanted to show all steps that were necessary. If I were to show a tutorial on how to install the market and it was already installed I might have overlooked some steps because they were preconfigured.

Actually I just got it to work! Just rebooted and signed in again and it worked. Oh, and I've noticed that the stock emulators always reset my settings when I exit the emulator. Kind of annoying but now that I've changed my emu's it's working fine. Cheers.

Great tutorials! I'm loving my G18, but I have a question. Can you install the market w/o reformatting to stock? I installed the market .apk and framework but it will not connect to googles servers. I didn't wipe to stock, so maybe that's my problem.

1) Does doing this procedure wipe out all the emulators/software that comes with the device?

2) Once I connect to google market. What emu's do I need to download/update? All of them?

3) Does the device need to be rooted with z4root before I do any of these steps?

4) Are all the standard emulators available on Android Marketplace? (snes/mame/gen/psx/neogeo/etc.­) Or do I need to go elsewhere?

5) How about post about which emu's are best on this device and how to config them

@mcgowan7100 1. It just resets everything to stock. The defaults apps will be reinstalled but the wipe system will not get rid of root

2. yongs emulators are the default emus and the updates are not on the market the are available on the slideme website. google it you will find it. The emus I prefer need to be purchased just do a search for .emu and you will find all the good stuff except the snes9x ex which is available for free on his website.

3. The device does not need to be rooted to do a factory reset but to remove the default emulators so you can update them you need to have root.

5. I will be doing a short video today showing a few emulators and how to map controls. It should be up by Saturday.

@qwanom the buttons are just emulatoed key strokes almost all emulators allow for mapping of keys. In other words you should not have any troubles. I am going to have to do a video

thanks for this video brother, now, i have a question, i didn't buy it yet, because i would like to know if this device is captable to play Dead Space, minecraft or any other game with 3d graphics on the android market. regards

@RAVB902 I can't answer that precisely but this uses the same GPU as the Samsung Galaxy S2 (maybe clocked a little slower) so I don't think you would have any trouble. I'm sure it will handle minecraft a Galaxy Tab P1000 does easily and that GPU was a generation older. Would be interesting to see it run say BackStab or one of the other high end Gameloft titles.

@qbertaddict1 You should be able to change the input method from the input settings under the settings page. Its the last one in the list with the little keyboard keys icons. You can also tap them twice and then press a key to rebind them.
