My mate nearly drowned that night, falling over the side of the pier into the oily water of Sydney Harbour. We would have gotten him out of the drink sooner, but we were rolling around laughing our tits off at him. He drank about 10 gallons of sea water trying to climb back up one of them slippery mooring poles. What a fuckin' laugh!!!

For those of you old enough to remember the angels in their hay day as I do. To say they were popular is an understatment. At one stage in the early 80s 11 consecutive concerts broke house records.  Quite frankly if you werent in line early you had no chance of getting in. They had to play at the biggest venues. I for one was manicly early to be right up front. One damn night at the bexely north hotel I was about 500th inline ggrrr.

This freaks me to the max. I was there as a 16 yo Angels fan. I vividly remember this incident clearly. I even remember the announcer saying what he said. All these years later I am still a huge Angels fan.

When i watched this live i initially thought Doc was lying down as part of the act. It happened so quickly and the bottle was thrown from the side, which was hard to pick up. Especially for me, as i had more than a few beers under my belt at the time.

Saw them last night paly this on Face to Face 30th Anniversay Tour , they still got it. Really professional. The venue was sold out.

Got to meet the band afterwards they were making a fortune from merchandise sales signing everything. Cool T Shirts, stubbie holders, DVD's.

The highlight besides Marseilles, Take A Long Line was probably the rarely played Devils Gate.

Don't miss seeing them while you can.

Well there you goes folks The Angels/Angel City playing in front of 100,000 fans and a few idiots. The song is Marsellies, The venue is Sydney Opera House, New Years Eve 31/12/1979. The concert ended in a riot. Doc K O'ed by a bottle from some idiot. Concerts banned at the Sydney Opera House until 1996 (Crowed House). A piece of infamous rock history probably not seen since the National Live TV/FM dual cast. Long Live the Angels/ Angel City. World Visions 2008 big thx you have uncovered a gem.
