  • I was mad about that girl :)

  • There's something beautifully simplistic about her voice, it's great!!

  • Venus must have heard my plea_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

And sent me a great love!!!

    Rouge

  • Sounds like she's singing live. . . she hesitates at the beginning of the later verses

  • @Studmasterify She sings definitely live. Studio recording slightly differs

  • she makes me remember the 60s....Before flower power :-) What a gal !

  • i agree with everyone Sandy Shaw is tops, really enjoy those carefree days so long long ago

  • She looks like Robin Tunney (The Mentalist)

  • I loved everything about this girl. Her hairstyle, her voice and those beautiful blue eyes. What a talent.

  • everybody fancied "Sandy in those days.

  • brings back such a good tme in my life ,thank you

  • She reminds me of Zooey Deschanel.

  • Just a few months before this show she was an office worker at a Ford plant in Dagenham, England...Discovered by Adam Faith...never sang in public before...love those bare feet!!! I just found the Long Live Love compilation in a bargain bin at an FYE store...best $2.50 I ever spent!!! Long Live Sandy Shaw!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • great song

  • its so great to hear this music , dad played this when was ababy, its amaziny how u can remember them, even if born in 60s

  • I idolized Sandy in the 60s. Her bare feet (VERY daring and bohemian then) and classy English understated style just blew us all away. That straight black hair, simple clothes...other artistes were in high heels and beehive, big hair. But Sandy was pure class. Very English, no pretense at an American accent, as was the norm then. Check out some other great Sandy videos on Youtube

  • @zzheavensdoor - I think she said once that she couldn't see very well without glasses, and so didn't wear shoes to avoid the possibility of wrenching her ankle or the like. Of course, the fact she's 6' tall without shoes may have been another factor.

  • She was also known as The Barefeeted Girl

  • Love ,love ,love .... fon mir *****

  • Oh yes!!

  • Sandie is hot . . . I bet she's a 'cougar' now.

  • I think she's just 18 here. 18! Talk about talent. X factor - see this and weep. And then there's Kirby, Fury, Holly, Springfield, Clark, etc etc etc. ....

  • shes too cool

  • This is where the "round the handbag" dance originated

  • This is where the round the handbag dance originated

  • Thanks for the post!!

  • Her voice was cute in this song

  • is she related to singer songwriter connor shaw ??

  • considering her birth name is Sandra Ann Goodrich then i very much doubt that.

  • Chris Andrews was Sandies Saviour after her (affair with a married man ) which was awful then, then again it still is.

  • The guy she went out with was separated from his wife (who was having an affair with another man behind his back)) Sandie was going to get engaged as soon as he got the divorce ; but things went wrong : the wife changed her mind and told the reporters her own version and Sandie, being the most famous female star at the time, thejournalits picked on her and it ended in a court case and she got the blame for the whole thing.I can't see why men always get away with murder and chics get the blame !

  • I don't know, Zonty. It was a fancy dress party and she was dressed as a nurse from MASH. Her old manager, Evie Taylor was there with her. Sadly, Evie has died now. It was a great part and a lot of stars were there including Rod Stewart with Britt Ekland and even Marc Bolan and Glloria Jones were there. Marc died the following year.

  • @MisterBlue55 thats going back a few years...so who took Sandie home? or to the back room? c'mon someone must have....check out that camel toe

  • I bet you she looked stunning as a nurse with those bluegrey eyes anf that killer smile of hers-she's got so much finesse- no one comes close to her!!!!I'm jealous I wish I was there - I hate you!!!!!!!!! (only joking).

  • I love this song. I met Sandie at a party in 1976. She was really, really so nice.

  • was it during her "dark ages"?-as she likes to call it.I bet she was still a smasher then-looks wise.

  • @zonty13 dark ages? can u tell more as I read stuff about some scandolous matter but cant find much more..I'd really like to know what it was all about..cheers

  • @MisterBlue55 Was she BareFoot??

  • @MisterBlue55 Im very jealous......love her to bits

  • @MisterBlue55 You had luck to meet her. Bravo!

  • Awsome dancer she can do the James Brown in bare feet Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She was produced by Chris Andrew who also wrote this song. He had his own hits with Yesterday man and To Whom It Concerns.

  • Semplicemente deliziosa!

  • Long live love and long live Sandie.

  • long live the bare foot princes !

  • She seems to accidentally get the pronouns mixed up at 1:42 as well - surely she means "since he's come" not "since I've come" ? Still great, though.

  • 1:39 she forgets the words!

  • My first crush. Id forgotten she always performed bare footed. Explains a lot.

  • Charming.

  • Notice from c1.50 that backing is identical to "Its Not Unusual" by Tom Jones.Apparently Sandie was offered INU but turned it down because it might make a female sound "unsavoury". You can probably think of correct wording. However,it didn't do TJ any harm!!

    5*

  • My favourite 60's Brit Pop singer and possibly one of the most beautiful women ever, gorgeous cheek bones and just sheer natural beauty! She seems to be day dreaming at 1:39 and almost forgets to come back in haha.... there was no miming going on there:).

  • Her daydreaming look comes from her shortsightness-I agree she looks as though she's somewhere else ...cool chic and sexy!!!

  • a sixties icon, pretty too.

  • What a sweetie!

  • What year was this, please?

  • it was 1965 - a number one hit in the UK

  • currently on ebay rare French vinyl ep press of long live love, search under seller colinschool

  • i remember her and her dad fell out cos she went on TV wearing no shoes. that was considered to be a bit risque' back then. what a laugh. any way i like all them female singers from that era, i didn't at the time, but they are good pop songs that stand up today

  • very interesting, i would have never noticed the bare feet lol.

  • It was her trade mark!

  • All this talk from our "experts" about "trashy" artists hailing from the

50's, 60's, 70's and 80's is most worrying, if one considers that most of today's artists are in fact the "trash" type. No ordinary trash mind you, but the TALENTLESS kind

    ( read : Idols competition ).

  • soooooooooooooooo sexy mmmm sandy i love you xx

  • Miss Shaw is the coolest. She's Elfin.

  • YOU'RE DEAD RIGHT !!!

  • I love this song.

  • aslaam waley come

  • ootahee

Towards the end of your youtube career you developed the alarming habit of posting totally crap comments that weren't even funny - although they did show you to be the total prat that you indisputibly are. Sandie is a legend and an icon of music , whereas you are a dick

    full stop.

  • i love this song

  • She was a very sexy woman....

  • Sandie Shaw ,Fab

  • what gets me on this one every time is the "mmm-mmmmh", after the chorus. speaks so much without saying anything.

  • Long Long Live Love - Long Long Live Sandy Shaw

  • Here's someone with exquisite taste...

  • Along with Lulu, Dusty, Cilla, Petula and The Seekers Judy Durham, Sandie personifies all the best that the femme fatales produced during the fabulous 60's.

  • Disagree with you, sorry!I don't think Lulu, Cilla and Dusty were on the same "level" as Sandie;she always had more chic, and finesse than any other singers in the 60s.Judy was more like the nice girl next door type- sweet but no sex appeal.Lulu&Cilla were awfully common, Dusty was cheap

and "sordid" looking (great voice though) but Sandie was the classy lassie and super cool somewhat distant due to her shortsighteness but there was always a latent vulnerability... so metaphysical

  • i cant accept what you said about Dusty Springfield, she was anything but cheap!

  • Well you'll just have to.I truly love Dusty and have all her records , but her look was rather "camp": transvestite type of = cheap;Period!I bet you she looked fab without that heavy muck on her face and those acrylic behive wigs 'twas a real nightmare when I met her(twice) to see someone looking like a transvestite-she must have felt very insecure to want to "desguise herself so much -she was extremely insecure , by the way

  • She did not look like a tranny! She started trends-people tried to look like her, wearing that "muck" as you call it. I think Dusty Springfield looked great and her "acrylic beehive wigs" looked much better than any lookalike wig you will see today, or those downright plastic wigs the popstars wear today. make up and wigs were just what was done then, and i know sandy didnt do it, but other people wore wigs like the supremes and the vandellas.

  • Dusty was fashionable. Your "cheap description of dusty springfield well describes Lady Gaga of todays pop - way lower than Dusty. Dusty was stylish. and the comment you replied to saying that the person had exsquisite taste, well that person is me.

  • So... your taste isn't as exquisite as I thought - tough shit , who cares

  • I met both ladies and I can tell you who looked divine and who didn't. As for the Surpremes and Martha Reeves wigs , of course they had to wear them, because they had fuzzy hair , being negro. They don't wear wigs anymore now but hair extensions and have their hair straightened I believe.Anyway try to be objective about your idols... I am!!!

  • She was so sexy, so french looking, I'm still in love with her today.

  • yes she did indeed have that "je ne sais quoi" quality about her- very continental like.Well done, you're a great observer!!!!

  • Sandie Shaw was so beautiful back then and perfect for this song. What is she doing now?

  • a timeless performance!!!!!

  • What about Kathy Kirby 7pamelagp

  • Sandie Shaw had two glasses of hot water thrown into face. The first glass was in Montreal 1967 by Erin Brocovich who wanted Sandie Shaw to be blind for a courtcase in which Erin's husband, Paul, an JW artist for The Watchtower, charged her with scaling a brick wall to break into an apt to bite his penis & charged Sandi accordingly saying she was a prostitute. The second hot water glass was during the Sharon Tate trials 1970. Sandie took off her shoes so she could feel the floor as she walked.

  • You're making this up surely ??

  • long long live nothern soul

  • HER IS THE best SINGER IN THE YEARS 60S TOGETHER WITH CILLA BLACK, AND MARY HOKIN. SANDIE IS CHARMING

  • Look up Jackie Lee sometime - you'll be really surprised.

  • her name is Mary HOPKiNS!!!

  • Are you serious??????

  • what do you mean ? yes thats her name !!!! Hopkins NOT hokin

  • you bum ,her name is Sandie Shaw and not Mary Hopkin get it ,mate????????

  • You might want to try reading a little further up before you start flaming people.

  • nope you're wrong, mary hopkins is a completely different artist, made famous by her song 'those were the days' - sandie's real name is sandra ann goodrich

  • Wonderful song!

  • She is so DAMN PRETTY!!! :-)

  • she is stylish, but she seems innocent and sophisticated at the same time-I think thats the sexy combination, and not at all obvious

  • Why is she so sexy?

The voice and the style surely.

    But something more.

    After all these years.

  • I dont think she ever wore shoes.

  • woo this song rocks i thought it was sad but when that music came on it was just like, oh my god this ROCKS

  • hökarängen-lever

  • longlonglivelove

  • Nearly forgot the words at 1:40 there : - ). She is beautiful and very nice singer live. Thanx for posting

  • she's just singing and dancing barefooted which is more elegant then what female singers usually do today...

  • remember her! how could i forget her loved her then and still do harry

  • Love Sandie, she used to stay close to my house years ago here in Hartlepool.

  • I wonder if she still wears those Jesus Creeper sandals with the red nail polished ladders that she wore at schol

  • Not your school. Jesus Creeper sandals are the best footwear in the whole damn world. "Oh baby...your so long ago" words from Sandra Dee to Bobby Darin from Europe. Bobby composed a new song "your going to miss me in the mornings" at coffee time. Then, he had a heart attack.

  • Excuse me - yes it was my school and many a run I had with her and those sandals.

  • I wish I could meet her 'everynight at 8'. Fabulous!

  • Wow! I grew up in the 60s. How come I don't remember her?

  • for the simple reason that you people refused to give her a working visa, that's why!!!she could never promote her records, though "Girl don't come" was a minor hit for her in your country - that was before the americans decided to not to give her the bloody working visa.

  • because of the bad memory or drugs - some people say if you remember the sixties you werent there! LOL

  • bare footed Sandie Shaw, she was beatifull!!!

  • forgot how gorgeous she was..and from dagenham too..never bumped into her wish i had

  • wow thx for posting i just LOVE this song.

  • I met her hits on 1995, this is fabulous, even have some spanish versions

  • The face and voice of the 60s.

  • she wiggles in this one

  • thanks for posting this , Sandie is so young there , ahhhh I love her so much , and I dont mean that in a nasty stalking kinda way , I love her style and image and voice , she is insoirational

  • Great vid...Ta for posting...wot are these people on about...gotta go now and score some smack before the big game wiv chelski and everton!

  • she was the girl next door type, you always had the impression that if you met her you could have a bit of a chin wag !

  • WHAT A BABE

  • lONG LIVE LOVE

    I LOVE THAT SONG

  • Sandie was, is, and will be the most wonderful beautiful ikon that ever exists.

  • I carried a picture of her around with me in my back pocket for three years when I was in infants school, and I'd forgotten why. Now I remember :)

  • I just love the shape of Sandie's chin and lower jaw.

  • beautiful Sandy with those piercing blue eyes. Love her.

  • yeh man eye could kiss those lips too day and night great song

  • thats real cool chick, kiss those lips

  • Same music as Chubby Checker's Limbo Rock.

  • Paul, your naughty for saying that!....to me Sandie doesn't sound like a cat.

  • you're sick!!!!

  • Excellent memories - first time I ever knew the actual title f the song!

    Love it!

    Cool asssssssssss!

  • Why is the song from 65 Long live love deleted?

  • Maybe because it wasn't made in 1965? Baby you are long, long ago....from Sandra Dee to Bobby Darin's ears as he laid in a hospital bed in LA somewhere recuperating from another heart attack. The only thing going for him was his hospital tv which aired Eurovision 1970 contest. Then, he died.

  • La chanteuse des années 60 par excellence!!!!

    Quel bonheur!!!

  • I think a contemporary of Sandie shaw is Corrine Drewery of Swing

Out Sister. She has a retro style/look much like Sandie in the 1960's.Thanks for posting.

  • Great singer and song.

  • Cool -- great to see this. This must be "Shindig!" in London...
