@LOKISlog7 Thanks for the comment. I think what I like most about this video is that it simply unfolds. A night at the Miracle Twin drive in theater. This summer I hope to revisit the site, if possible, and tape the nearby US 23 as I did here. Oh, and I'd use a tripod!
@SHUNT311 Always hope while she's still standing, the resurrection of sites closed down for a various number of years does happen now and then...you never know. Until then, yes, REST in PEASE Miracle Twin.
@blackflamesharingan No reason to be bummed out.. The Miracle Twin still stands, re-opening is possible so there is hope. Take care, it could always be worse.
Your Continuing Comments are graeatly appreciated. 3000 views is a personal milestone. i've uploaded dozens of drive in theater videos and this so far is the most popular.
This footage is from 1994. It is for sale or lease. There was some serious interest in reopening this drive-in recently, and it wasn't Rave. I suspect NA's high price tag quashed this effort.
@M78drivein Yeah, that was 2 years after my M78 closed...an OUTDOOR MOOVIES excursion to Fliont certasinly made sense...althogh judging from how much footaage I shot (this is but a portion} I guess I didn't see much of the film. THANKS for the comment. We plan on visiting the CAPRI this year...and a Southern Ohio MEGA Trip is in the works. Sadly, a 2008 CAPRI visit was my last drive in night.
@seaninlou68 Well, if you go there now, you'll see 3 seasons of greenery growth. My taping years at public access cable was 1979 - 2007...I think this could've been the early 90's. This segment really brings the place to life, I'm proud to say. This is one site I'd really like to photograph again.
@gearjammer4181 Not sure, but if I figure it out, I'll post the answer. Thank you for your comment, so few bother. This drive in clip is my most popular, but, since so few comment I don't know why.
@osfs3411 I appreciate the comment. Actually, we just flund out that National Amusements has lifted the restriction that banned it's use as a drive in, so, who knows? Do you happen to know if that small sign on the corner, which is used for the school, was ever a sign for the Miracle Twin? Anybody?
We had heard an unconfirmed rumor that turned out be just that, a rumor that Rave Motion pictures was trying to convince NA to let them reopen the MT, since it was still a profitable drive-in during its last 5 years of operation. NA obviously never let that happen, as expected. NA is now history in Michigan, as the Showcase Flint West and Ann Arbor are now being operated by Rave. How ironic....
Thanks again for posting this, as this is next best thing to being there. Lots of great MT memories!
To: lexmarks 567: I am sorry I didn't have a chance to read the comment you deleted. I'll try to visit the library more. Anyways, Thank you for your comment, what ever it was.
To: movie magicus a12. First, please forgive me for not responding sooner. I don't have an internet connection and just now read your kind comments. So few people bother to comment, even though they enjoy the clips. My friend put on a clip you will enjoy. Type into search: Michigan's Forgotten drive Ins. In it, you'll see a beautiful image of the Grand Rapids CASCADE Red and Blue sign. The Lansing area M78 also used this motif. I like this clip, too. It's ALMOST like being there. THANX!
To: andyboein 747: When I was a kid, I flew in a United 727. it was the year that they introduced the 747. Remember the original one that had all the small airline decails near the cockpit? It was a thrill to see it parked at Detroit metro. Hey, thanks for the comment, so few bother. It is a hugh lot, I wonder what kind of crappy thing will end up there. To DRIVE IN 101: Likewise, your kind comment is appreciated. Yeah, by all means, GO to the US 23. You'll create an everlasting memory.
I wish to God that I had the pleasure of visiting the Miracle Twin. Beautiful place; I loved the RED SCREEN/BLUE SCREEN concept/motif. National Amusements is sure not getting my vote for Best Theater Chain. I do hope to get to the U.S. 23 Twin in the future; I'm gonna try for this upcoming season.
Repeat Viewings? I am honored and I thank you, movie magic usa. Have you seen the other Outdoor Moovies clips that my friend posted? Search for michigandriveins. i can't tell you how much I appreciate your kind comments, so few bother.
I worked the final 9 seasons at the Lansing MI area M-78. One of our sister drive ins was the MIRACLE TWIN. One special memory was a night that I had off. i got a call. The MIRACLE TWIN had run out of frozen pizzas and could I run 'em a supply. I asked my mom if I could borrow her car, she asked if she could tag along, and that is a special memory. I have to wonder how long it will be until demolition. My "Channel" will improve soon. Thanx for your ( 2 ) comments.
Thanks so much for posting this awesome look back at the Miracle Twin, while it was still operating. Great stuff! Keep it coming. Long live Outdoor Moovies on the internet!
To michigandriveins: I'll always be thankfull for you getting me started on the web with the "Original 14". It sucks not having the show anymore. I'm taking baby steps here, but that's what it's gonna take. Did you read the blip in last Sundays paper (2 weeks ago) about drive ins? I'll send you a copy. We'll communicate via US Mail when I getv a chance. The BETA Tapes Project is schedualed for september. August is otherwise busy. I'll continue talking soon in your mail box.
It's nice to see you've mastered the task of uploading to Youtube brother! Sorry I haven't been able to get more of your videos put up! So, how about those old Beta tapes, when will we get to see what's on them!!??
Great job and the Miracle Twin looks awesome. I'm so glad we have these images to remember it by. It's going to be really sad to watch it rot away. :(

I'm glad I took the time to take my grandaughter there in 2006. Are there any drive-ins still open? I would love to rake my other grandkids.
