wish i had known this for my first in person meeting with a web design client. I gave her several sheets of questions to fill out, she filled out none. In hindsight i should have at least taken a notepad with a list of questions and ask each one and take notes. I forgot that people are lazy and expect you to do 98% of the work. This video is great.
@bsmbahamas You should take a look at the book "How to win friends and Influence People By dale carnigie" I feel this book would help you out with that next webdesign client massively.
It explains how to get people interested in your ideas.
the better it gets the better it gets. you need to ask the customer about his real problems and needs and his goals that you or your product CAN solve. you write 5 questions: the agenda close for mr tracey. Mr tracey i know how busy you are and these 5 questions will help determine if we can help you in a cost effective way...what are you doing now how is it working/what do you want more/less of/what are your key concerns/do you feel confident there is a solution for you and that this is it?lol
There is power in asking! People often ask me how I get interviews with very successful people in the area of internet marketing. I tell them I ask them for an interview. lol People think I have some great sales pitch; just ask and you will be surprised at what you get in life!
I'll give him credit for this idea, I've never used it before but it sounds like an interesting idea that could work. I know from actual experience customer's like it when you get to the point. So if you have something already on paper you're not wasting your time or theres with some overlong presentation.
