@Hugo12317 I don't think it has stopped. I just checked on an account that I haven't verified and "Increase You Limit" is still there. The thing is YouTube may not have made this available for all accounts. I don't know why.

@spongymode You don't have to pay extra as long as your phone can recieve text messages. The actual message YouTube sends is really short and just says something like "Your activation code is __________" I did this about 5 months ago and haven't recieved any spam at all.

@SensationalElia5VGC Well, on an account that I HAVE verified it says "Upload HD videos in various formats." and one that I haven't verified still says "Upload HD videos in various formats up to 15 minutes. Increase your limit." Have you tried increasing your limit??

@SensationalElia5VGC If it just says "Upload HD videos in various formats." you should be able to upload long videos. The only way to check is to upload a video longer than 15 minutes and see if it works

I want to start uploading 10 hour videos, but have never uploaded anything before. Am I screwed because my upload page says "Increased limit not available for this account."? It's been active and in good standing since 2006, why can't I have my limit increased?

@AliceLivesAgain I haven't personally encountered "Increased limit not available for this account." but other people had issues. You mention having the account since 2006 and maybe this is the problem. In the early days of YouTube, if you set your channel style as a "Direcotor" you could upload longer videos. This was NOT a partnership and DOESN'T work anymore.

My only thought is that this may not work on older accounts.

@TanUv90 I did exactly what you showed in this vid two months ago and had been able to upload longer-time videos, but since yesterday YouTube disallows me to upload longer video anymore,so i thought i need to re-verify my mobile phone number, but the link doesn't exist....

@eastasiapower I'm not sure what's wrong because I just uploaded 2 20-minute videos on a VERIFIED channel and they were successfully uploaded.

So I can't really help, but I do know once you verify your account the "increase your limit" link disappears

@FusionStudioHD When I enables my account I got a message saying it was enabled, but that may not happen for everyone. My upload page used to read "Upload HD videos in various formats up to 15 minutes. Increase your limit." and this should appear on NON-enabled accounts.

Now my page only reads "Upload HD videos in various formats." If it shows this for you, it should be enabled. Of course the only real way to check is to upload a video longer than 15 minutes and see if it works.

@lester2518 It depends, if texting is included in your phone plan, it shouldn't have to pay, but if it isn't it might cost extra to receive the text.

@FlyingPheonixMKW Yes enter your area code. You need a 10-digit number so if your number is 555-5555 and your area code is 613, enter 6135555555 (no spaces or dashes).

If that doesn't work, I'm sorry but i don't know whats wrong. I live in the US and it would suck if it only works here, but someone else had trouble with the same sort of thing.

@Pritzstik94 You don't have to pay extra to get the sms, all you need is a phone that can accept texts. Just remember if you aren't paying for a texting service for your phone it might cost extra to receive it, but that all depends on your phone plan, carrier and where you live.

@Isaaczgirl I'm not sure what happens if you try to increase you limit and and your account isn't in good standing. I would try anyway and see what happens. It might give you an error message, but I really don't know.
