which is easier and better, Hiragana or Katakana?

Katakana: straighter lines, typically slightly fewer lines, very slight differences among certain katakana (シ、ツ、ン、ソ、リ) that makes distinguishing among them mildly obnoxious at times, of secondary importance to hiragana

Hiragana: curvier lines, typically slightly more lines, much more important in terms of everyday use

So typically, katakana = easier except for a few tricky ones, and hiragana = better.
