I think I first here Stompbox on FMS(fingers metal shop) on Long Island. The Stress tape made it around the world with me and I wore it out pretty good. Any way to get a digital copy of it. Jeff? I'm not asking for free. I'll pay for it.
Such a great band! I always thought of them as the bastard child of Stone Temple Pilots and Helmet.
I did not intend that to be an insult...just a combination of the best aspects of those bands into a wonderful album. I love the smooth sound of the album as well.
I am a guy from Portugal, I saw the video No Woods in MTV's Headbangers Ball when I was 12, back in 1994. Me and my bro taped it on a VHS and we played it over and over and over. Awesome times for heavy music...So sad that the band disbanded after only one album, but trust me, you have made a lot of people happy, not just in the US! I really wish you guys could have made it bigger, there is so much crap playing on the radio and tv nowadays.thank you for the videos and good luck with your life!
Shit man, I remember Stompbox was one of my first shows. Me and 2 of my best friends went to see them here in Portland. They were opening up for Biohazard. I got knocked out that night after some dude climbed up on the marshall stacks and jumped off, landing on me, but ten seconds later i was back up in the front head bangin my ass off. My friend ended up getting his converse shoe signed by Biohazard....that was a night i'll never forget.
I wish Stompbox was still around, they were fukin cool!
Thanks for all of these great posts. Is there any way you can upload the studio version of this from Stress? Each song on Stress is a Monster. Sometimes I feel that GodSmack poached a bit from Stress during production and that their success is what Stomp Box should have had. Am I wrong? Too bad Thaler couldn't trim his ridiculous Jesus beard into a goatee. You all could have become near millionaires. Awesome guitar, vocals, drums, bass, and songwriting. All thrown away to look like Jesus!
im willing to sell the cd and a 7inch i have of them. i loved this band. i saw them open for Kyuss. i left after stompbox played cuz i never heard Kyuss. since then i now love kyuss and skipped my only chance to see them before they broke up. sucks., big misake
If ya think I owe it to ya...COME &TAKE IT FROM ME !!!!!
