i downloaded tweetie..but the box for a new tweet doesnt show up no matter what i do..i feel like the application is missing plug-ins because some of the real time controls dont work...could you please help me?

In Tweetie, you can right-click on a tweet for more options including an @Reply and DM. I swear by Tweetie.

In my opinion Tweetie is the best looking and most functional client.

The only thing thing that's missing is the official retweet function, where a retweet is sent to the follower instead of a new tweet starting with "RT @user:.." which actually works in the version for the iPhone (now called "twitter")...

Tweetdeck for desktop simply because I get real-time updates on my timeline, replies, direct messages, keywords without ever switching a window or clicking a tab. They're all laid out in front of me.
