@chotchcas Of course he had a manager. she killed him [figuratively] by bankrupting him. His heart failure may very well have brought on by her embezzling millions from him. Of course all his boozing & drugging interefered with his attention to book keeping.
ADORE this song. I have been singing this all day! I grew up watching "The Point." Nothing but good memories connected to this song. Sadly no one else has ever even heard of the point, and if they watch it with me, they can't understand the beauty of it :P Oh well more glory for me!
Harry Nilsson YOU were a genius and the music, POINTS and voice that you shared with us all is a true gift. I wish I could have met you, but I feel as if I maybe did!
Forget the drugs , this film actually made a bold statement to kids about how we need to learn to accept one another! Back in the day of Archie bunker and Good times , Sweet songs with simple animation made a home run driving the POINT of racial equality.
my friend asked me if there are any movies that are actually good to watch on drugs, I told him I've never watched this on drugs but I'm sure it would be amazing haha
@neightn the message of the movie was to accept yourself and others as unique individuals and that not everything needs a point to make sense. hence the quite literal "pointless" forest where everything was nonsense but still made sense lol wonderful message and great movie.
This was the very first movie I ever watched when I was younger, my dad and I used to watch it all the time, I still watch it from time to time to this day :)
Thank you for that, I haven't heard that song in so long. I grew up on that movie and my dad used to sing it to me before I went to sleep. Brings back memories.
wel thank you for your answer but the 1971 version i saw did not have ringos voice , unless he lost the accent ... you can tell the difference in the clips on this site
The original ABC Circle Film had Dustin Hoffman's voice as Narrator. The album was narrated, however, by Nilsson. I still have my copy of the original LP. The album was played in its entirety on San Francisco FM radio, KSFX, numerous times after its release.
how can i buy this origanal 1971 video, not the one with ringo star , i believe its harry nielson that narrates or dustin hoffman please post an answere on this site thank you
man i miss when this kinda stuff used to be on tv. i have no idea what channel, though. i'm guessing this came on Nickelodeon before it turned to shit
I love this song and video! Are you sleeping, can you hear me Do you know if I am by your side Does it matter if you hear me When the morning comes I'll be there by your side And in the morning when I wake up She may be telling me good-bye, la la la la And in the evening if we break up I'm wondering why-y-y, I'm wondering why-y-y-y... There was a time, we had a time There was a time, we had a time There was a time, there was a time When you were mine

Harry Nilsson was so amazing - his voice so versatile and his songwriting too.
And his manager kills him. And there's no justice.

This movie came from the 70's. Therefore it has a liberal bias.

This is the original 1971 movie, with Ringo Star narrator, and the music is by Harry Nilsson. I don't know any other version than this one.

This whole movie is like an acid trip without the acid. Beautiful, and it has a good "point," too. ;-)

@MTGyrl
That's apparently how it came to be...all children should see this movie...very deep.

@MTGyrl but it was in fact a acid trip WITH the acid. :)
