Thank you for your video. If you claim to be Muslim one shouldn't dispute it. But from what your ex-girlfriend was saying she doesn't truely believe in the last prophet (PBUH). Logically f you don't believe in the man that received the reveations then how can you be of that religion? That being said there is a lot of people claiming to be a lot of things yet not following their words with actions. I hope she receives guidence, as she seems to have an identity issue.

Anyone who believes in,' Allah as the one and only God and Prophet Mohammad being Allah's last messenger and human', is Muslim.

Your girlfriend was Muslim if she claims so, irrespective of the fact that she was not totally following the teachings of Islam. She can not be called non-Muslim for not covering skin. She was a Muslim if she believed in one God Allah and his last messenger Mohammad PBUH. Allah is merciful and Allah does forgive our mistakes and guides us to right path after our sins.

There are other books you must read that explain the religion, and are backed up with proof form the Qu'ran and Sunnah. This is the way i approached the religion, by reading other books before i approached the Qu'ran. Alhamduillah the Qu'ran can also be understood on an easy level also, as you have displayed. by Allah swt. I also would like to state that, simply because you read the Qu'ran doesnt mean you know the religion, because the meanings in the Qu'ran can go really in depth, and there are many scholars whom do interpretations and expain each verse in detail, its a really beautiful thing.

I respect what you did, i am a revert to Islam myself, and a lot of ppl like to criticize the religion simply because they do not know it, or are even arrogant. Im glad that you know the enlgish translation isnt the exact Qu'ran and meaning. And insha'Allah Allah will guide you to the right path and reveal to you the truth. Well you can not say that she is or is not a muslim.. If she believes that their is One God annd Muhammad (pbuh) is his messenger then she is muslim. It is up to God to determine how good a muslim she is not you or me. But the fact that she is going out with a man outside of marriage is not a good sign.

dating isnt allowed in Islam no matter it maybe between a Muslim Man and a Muslim women or Non Muslim Man or Muslim women. Dating and pre-marital relationships are forbidden in Islam.

And Yes Hijab is mandatory
