Donald McPherson wrote this great anthem which embodies the nearly four hundred year journey (1619-2011) of Africans of the diaspora in the United States of America. McPherson tragically died prior to the release of "Black Seeds"; surviving members of The Main Ingredient dedicated the "Black Seeds" album to McPherson's memory.
"Make the man who sowed the first seed real proud of you, make the man who plants his after real proud too... don't let 'em down..."
