  • nice voice

  • Dis aint a easy song to score

  • she has a lovely voice!

  • Only one I've heard so far with a probability of having singing lessons.

  • do you guys expect her to be singing kumbaya or the lion king? just cause she sang an american song doesn't mean she is trying to be american. she did sing african songs previously so what's prob?

  • FAKE PLS SING AFRICAN SONG

  • too many a woman.

  • Check out her rendition of Onyeka Onwenu's "EKWE" song. She sang it even better than Onyeka did. Singing this song was just part of the competition. I guess to show what her vocal range is....

  • @empire10000 she is fanstastic! in that rendition .. amazing no american pull our stuff of .. we do us better than best.. imitating americans is all very well but you know where the beats come from ..

  • this is west african idol, why are they singing these songs?

  • she is great love it

  • Omawumi FOP AAU Ekpoma, great soloist charis excelsis

  • Go Omawumi! Briiliant performance. You make us all Nigerians (Itsekiri in particular) proud....

  • your life must have no purpose if you stay on youtube leaving comments like these. You are a disgrace for a human being.

  • The thing about this girl is that she is singing live and she is fantastic. Christina is an amazing singer, but has never performed this song 100% live. She mimed it a couple of times.

  • ...I despair...

Your ignorance is flawless! Congratulations... you are a credit to your parents...

Now go back to your 'white' library and check your history books...

You might find out some information that will help you in your soul searching...

    Good luck chuck!

  • You are such a loser. Why bother commenting? How does it help you to further your white supremisist movement? Fucking moron. Go write some petitions or post some flyers. Your black envy is obvious and annoying. I know you cry at nights, just lamenting about your inability to keep rhythm, & the speed at which your skin ages, along with the history of barbarianism that your people have, you cry at the fact that it is 'blacks' that built civilisation & schooled your greatest scholars...poor thing..

  • When the Portuguese arrived in Nigeria they found a kingdom and civilization that could not offer anything to theirs. The onlything they brought was corruption and the opportunity for les Afrique to sell thier brothers and sisters into slavery.

  • The portuguese arrived in Nigeria?!?!... as a portuguese i can tell all the youtube community that who posted this is a total morron haha

  • My God, you are Portuguese and you don't know about Bartolomeu Dias and the Portuguese exploration of the African coast starting from 1419? You are a moron.

  • Who are you to tell me who was bartolomeu dias haha man find a book and read...Bartolomeu Dias was born around 1450 and he was not interested in exploration of the Ocidental african coast, he was a sailor trying to pass Cape of Good Hope on his way to India. Anyway why am i giving you history lessons for free. Study dumbass!

  • she did good

  • watever cyclopxy she is not american ok moron

  • actually i think she is incredible :D singing live and with that voice :D wow :D

  • Cool baby!

  • I love her moves.....particularly......from 0:29

  • To be honest, this is a very difficult song to sing but yet, she impressed! i dont know why people on this forum have decided not to commend her effort but rather lambasting her for not singing an African song forgetting that, the song list, in which they choose from everyweek are brought before them by the organizers. Anyway, this is the best RENDITION of i babe's top notch, i have heard so far.......appreciate and dont condemn.......and believe it or not, it is class!!!!!

  • have you noticed how much america hate.... im from england but wow why is every one so negative? you cant handle a day in their lives and all you do is critisize them whilst they're doing positive things.... scum p.s. shes not that bad

  • @realmannyman you noticed that too ? lol!

  • Appreciate a sistah for her effort. I LIKE IT

  • sing African songs please.

  • man black ppl are born with singing power..wow

  • dis is shit

  • i think this is better than the original so powerful

  • Did anyone sing any African songs?

  • this is terrible seriously. Cant u listen to the song and compare to the original. I am african and i am not hating. Seriously she did not sing this song well. But she does have a great voice. I guess WRONG choice of song

  • Don't care about the point any1 is tryna make..Yes there are many countries in West Africa..But out of all of them Nigeria stands out the most..In population, wealth, sports, music...and so y the heck can we not be the west African idol without people hating?!..The u.s.a stands out in North America but there are many countries in North America..Be loyal!

  • no it's the whole of West Africa involved, not just Nigeria. the thing was held in Nigeria but other West Africans can audiction.

  • It is Nigerian..other west africans can audiction.

  • @picassomicasso1 only americans are allowed to prance, preen, and shout and scream!! the rest of the planet has to hush up while they are doing it !lol!

  • was this competiton nigerian?so why then did they call it west african idol?nigeria is not the whole of west africa but just a tiny piece of it.

    get it right people.

  • Not a tiny piece..Nigeria Actually have the largest number of Black people in the whole world and Nigeria is the gaint of Africa!..get it right.

  • thats not the point she's trynna say u cant just generalize the whole west africa as nigeria....nigeria is just one country in west africa there is ghana liberia togo ivory coast and many more countries

  • jst the same way america consist of south america, and north america which consist of so many countries, but america idol is done in united states, and its called American idol. get it?

  • Actually it was a West African idol, not Nigeria. People from other West African countries tried to get into it. It was held in Nigeria but judges picked only nigerians (i guess). The female judge is a Ghanaian, another is a Nigerian and the last guy was Africa-American. So i don't, the thing was divided, they just picked Nigerians that audictions. other West Africans audictions too, they just didn't make the cut.

  • audition*

  • o pls. watch the auditions. the whole of west africa auditioned. 4 sm reason mostly nigerians made the cut. they probably held it in nigeria cuz its the most populated. or hu knows. thank u jare debbyboy.

  • Okay this is a mess! Did she win?! Wow...almost karaok-ish...so flat!!! Sorry :)

  • here we go again. The fun of africa has been negotiated for foreign culture. when are we going to commence the promotion of africa heritage just as great it is meant to be?

  • you're so right. Can hardly tell you're watching "African" Idol ... so sad ...

  • Wow..what a voice O.o amazing

and all the comments are discussing the race and everything..wth..comment on the performance itself -_-

  • africa, here we come again. our 'idols' have to sing like foreigners for us to know their quality. for god sake, why cant someone sing like a brenda fasie (pardon me for the spelling), or even asa. i do not see creativity in this idol project in africa

  • i feel u...

    i feel thesame too ...

we have the likes of great singers in africa and the other thing is that its up to the performer and if they are comfortable with it they are ok..

maybe their as to be a otherversion of talent upbringing like xproject or africanvision...

then it simply as to be african songs or songs that is been played by african singers.

what do you think about this?am a big fan of Nigerian music thats why i sensed a feeling from your comment.

  • thank goodness there are still people like you who believe in originality. no african musician can be great by copying a western act. fela was unique. even 9ice is raving cos of his nice blend of yoruba.

  • Exactly Plutonash25, the point is this,i hope people like us can make a change to the music scene in Nigeria.

I hope we go make a change, but i use to say this if u want to sing r&b sing a good song,if you want to go into rap/hiphop make a good one,you know why?just becos good music or music is universal it doesnt matter where you live or your colour..lets generate good music and potraite the good people we are to the world.

  • this is so funny!!

  • this is awful!! I didnt even know they had a WEST AFRICAN IDOL! It's almost funny, she SUCKS!

  • where is your audition tape again?

  • in your mothers bedroom... did you like it?

  • oh so that butch transsexual was you? i gotta tell you man your one ugly bastard...make up ur mind weather u wanna be male or female lol

  • OOh sorry to dissapoint, but that "Ugly" Butch Tranny was Actually your Father.. I was just in the corner Filming.. So??? did you like the tape??

  • ur an asshole.

  • She has a great voice, but the song was not right for her. The delivery of the song was all wrong.

  • Anyone that has a Christian Aguilera voice definitely deserves a music deal. She sang great, imitation or not.

  • u are a sick person!

  • thats a man?

  • lmfao drag queen lol lol

  • your mother is fine? xD

  • "immitators" and "drugqueen"? do you even know how to spell? SMH!!!!!

  • lmao i am actually agreeing with all the gibberish up there u tyoed mupenzi lolshut her /he the hell up

  • Mupenzi, you are an illiterate. She is not imitating christina, its a competition... the west african idols and she is supposed to sing just like christina did.. and I think she did that perfectly. its called talent you fool
