I HAVE THE SAME CAR or similar... i have a 1984 635csi alpina b9. It was my grandmas and she gave it to me and mine is in PERFECT shape the only thing is that the pin striping is chipping off the sides and my number is 375. It looks identical to yours. what year is that?

Alpina is a registred car producer since 1983 . Brabus , AMG (before MB bought them) , Hartge are only Tuners. Alpina has strong connections to BMW since 1965, but it´s still a private company.

Mercedes gives Brabus production models early, which i believe they are the only tuner who does so. Brabus is a registered manufacturer in germany.

I'd say alpina and brabus are pretty simmilar.

alpina is more for subtle upgrades. brabus is basically completley changing the car, new engine, new everything and adding 300-500k to the price tag.

alpina is about adding some more forced induction to the same engine, more comfort, maybe better entertainment, for 20k more

those are just their supercars. They only make maybe 2-3 a year, if that. I've heard some articles describing brabus as the world's largest automotive tuner.

Brabus offers plenty of much cheaper tuning options.

yeah but not really. AMG is to benz what ///M is to Bmw. Alpina is a tuner who modifies BMW's. Most of their modifications are done after you buy the stock car from BMW.

I think in some cases BMW will sell you the car already modified by Alpina, but not usually. Its like what Roush is to ford or what RUF is to porsche...
