I happen to live about 10 miles from Sonny Rollins here in upstate New York. As you probably know, he is the guy credited with that tune, but he says that it's an old Caribbean melody that he heard from his mother, and he gave it the name St. Thomas because she was from the Virgin Islands.
im watching this cuz my band director told us to look up st. thomas for jazz band and this sounds cool and kinda wut we play, kinda, sorta, maybe, no, lol
