  • This was very lovely to watch. I often wondered about the process of carving a seal . This was quite wonderful to see and I greatly appreciated your recording the entire process.

  • Just beautiful !!!

    Thanks Steve !

  • Thank you for the in-depth reply! I see now what you mean.

  • I didn't watch the video with sound so you may have mentioned why, but I was wondering why you carved the seal's edge to fit the shape of the transferred image. I would have expected the design to be adjusted while carving to fit the different shape of that particular seal. I'm assuming the transferred design is done with a general shape off the computer.

I enjoy watching you carve seals when I have insomnia, it's very soothing to watch a craftsman work. (it's too interesting to make me sleepy

  • @subgirl The design process starts by taking a picture of the stone surface and design according to the shape. However, I forgot to flip the picture so my design won't fit.(If you compare the design on the computer printout in the beginning of the video with the final result you will see what I meant.) So I end to modify both the design and the stone. BTW, there is no rule against modify the shape of a irregular stone.
