  • NICE!!

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • I like an awful lot!! She's giving all she's got throughout The piece, as it is meant to be. Congratulations indeed

  • IMPRESIONANTE!!!! faboluso!!

    Thank you!

  • Superb.

  • Awesome! Again Rachel makes it look so easy...I play piano but i wouldn't dare to try this difficult piece. Please keep up the good work...your Fan G

  • AWESOME! This is so amazing

  • (Insert standing ovation and wild cheering)

  • I think she's playing it a little faster than even Keith Emerson does. Woo.

  • BRAVO!!!!! :)

  • bravo

  • This just ROCKS! If Rachel is listening to this and figuring it out without music, that makes it even better. Even her touch on the Piano is Emerson approved, and the tuning of the Piano is very much like the studio recording. KEEP PLAYING! I love the fact that you picked Keith Emerson and look forward to hearing more.

  • Very good, Rachel. Thatnks for the comment awhile ago. Yes, what I did for the California Jam is true. Check out my latest vids, you'll see/hear for yourself!

  • I can't get enough of you Rachel. You are a wonder. You channel Keith Emerson when you play. I can't wait to hear your compositions.

  • Does anybody know where she is from and if she has been recorded professionally? What a tremendous and beautiful talent!

  • I posted in another thread(can't seem to find it right now) how impressed I was that she was doing all this without sheet music. Then I discovered why, after checking out a live performance video of hers. I am even more blown away by how gifted this girl of such a young age, is.

  • OH.... MY.... GOD~!!!!!

    TOO awesome!!!

  • WOW! I am laughing with tears of joy and astonishment! That was simply amazing! You are an awesome player and I love hearing some of my most favorite music in the world covered so well! Thanks for the hard work and sharing your talent!

  • Rachel...I have been listening to ELP for just about 40 years now and you have left me speechless. Note for note perfect - you are amazing!!! I keep re-watching your videos every week, I never get tired of seeing you play.....just phenomenal !!!

Have you played anything from the 1st album such as Take a Pebble, or The Three Fates? Would love to see you play them. Thanks for giving me so much pleasure!

  • Bravaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Un grande saluto dalla Sicilia......Lipari Isole Eolie....sei bravissimaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • If Keith Emerson saw this, he would cry himself to sleep every night.

What I'm saying is this is phenomenal.

  • Someone get this girl a Steinway she deserves it. A God given gift to us she is

  • Amazing! Really well played! I know how tough this piece is - just brilliant played!

  • I just watched several of your videos and like every one else, I'm blown away. My instincts tell me that the gifts you have given us are only the tip of the iceberg. Do you compose your own music? If not have you considered composing? Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.

  • very very very good....you are a phenomenal!!!.....Can u do the nut rocker???....what a talent...but has emerson ever ear u???....thank u ...bye bye

  • perfect! how long did it take to figure that out?

  • Perhaps you should start a band with some like minded folks to start a early progressive rock movement. If you like Keith Emerson, check out the band Egg. Egg is similar in concept to the Nice as it is a keyboard dominated trio inspired by classical music, although they put a bit of a "Canterbury" spin on it making them sound like a cross between The Nice and Soft Machine.

  • WOW, unbelievable, thanks to exist!

  • Good job Rachel u show play that at the school piano xD

  • Wow to the 10th power! I LOVE it. The Carl Palmer bits were fun, too

  • Great stuff...really made me happy...lump in throat & crying like a baby. This is true therapy for me ...thankyou Rachel..Live long & prosper !!

  • Rachel, you are Special.

Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

  • What a talent

  • Right before it started, I was like "oh man, I hope she rocks it". HELL YES she rocks it. PROPS.

  • My co workers are wondering why I'm now standing in front of my computer monitor cheering.. Truly an inspiration and a reminder that God still works miracles!

    Thank you Rachel!

  • a future concert pianist? this is so good even keith emerson himself never performed it perfectly live and this is so close to perfect its unbelievable

  • Wow, this is INCREDIBLE, Love the drum rolls, and trying to play the steel drum sound affects on the piano, really amazing. Glad to see young folks studying Keith Emerson's great creations - keep up the outstanding work!

  • Has Rachel tried Lachesis? I would love to hear her do that one.

  • Oh I love her!! Nice work Rachel!!!

  • Great stuff, keep up the great playing. This is one of my favorites pieces.

  • Blimey! I wonder if she could work with Greg Lake though...

  • Dear Rachel. I'm a long time ELP fan, since 1973. And I know every note from their songs. And I felt amazed and truly happy to testify such a wonderful talent and refined musical taste. What else to say ? I'm moved. I hope Mr. Emerson take a look at you playing his songs. LOL. Congratulations !!! Ricardo from Brazil

  • The more a listen to, the more I want... once again!!

  • You absolutely rule. A couple of questions: how do you learn all this material? And...are you thinking about finding an actual Hammond B3? Nobody deserves it more than you.

    Thank you very much!

  • @nandomortani Rachel learned all of the Keith Emerson pieces (ELP, The Nice, and solo pieces) by ear. I'm sure she would love to have a Hammond and I'm sure it will happen one of these days.

    And thank YOU very much!

    jeanie - Rachel's mom

  • Wow.... what talent.

  • Would I love to get my hands on the sheet music for this!

  • I have been an Emerson fan for nearly 40 years. You are amazingly gifted. Bravo.

  • Claps.

    Amazing stuff!!!!

  • This is beyond belief. Any chance you can do Karn Evil 1st Impression?

  • @Marillionboy KE9 1st Impression will probably show up here sooner or later :)

    jeanie - Rachel's mom

  • Brilliant! Perfectly executed.

  • You are amazing Rachel! I had the pleasure to see you perform at the Wav and you blew me away! I play piano myself but I am just starting out. I have been singing since I was 7 though! You are a great pianist and girl you can play that flute too! I hope you accomplish all your dreams :] Keep being amazing!

    - Margo

  • @margocady3 Margo, thank you very much! Rachel really enjoyed playing at the WAV - glad you enjoyed it!

    jeanie - Rachel's mom

  • Here's some good news: Keith and Greg (at the Emerson and Lake concert in L.A) teased the audience a bit with "well, we've actually been working on some music", then later mentioned that we can possibly expect some more stuff from them.Personally I thought that their last album "in the hot seat" could have been a lot better. It seemed a bit anticlimactic, especially after Black Moon; it just surprised me, even though I wasn't even born yet when ITHS came out.

  • Nice... Is this ELP's hardest piano song?

  • @cjgone2 Rachel says that it was hard at first, but it got easier the more she listened to it and played it.

I wondered the same thing! Thanks for asking!

    jeanie - Rachel's mom

  • @12stringbabe Jeanie, perhaps it's time to introduce Rachel to Chick Corea and the phenomenal Hiromi Uehara! Rachel is just brilliant! I'll be stopping by more often! ;)

  • @cjgone2 It probably is; very difficult to play. Nice job on the "steel drums" solo too!

  • Stunning display of technique beyond that of mortal earthlings.

  • Nice job, NICE JOB!!!! Keep playing quality music like that of Keith Emerson and you can't go wrong! Superb!

  • Lol. I never even realized it before but there's a Sunny Rollins quote in the solo.

  • @Parvenu333 Excellent! You win the prize for the day! Rachel says you get bonus points if you can name the tune! :)

  • @12stringbabe St. Thomas!

  • @Parvenu333 Well done!! Congratulations to you for having the good taste to know the music of both Keith Emerson and Sonny Rollins!

  • An amazing performance! Keith Emerson would be proud.

  • I love the percussion at 0.26!

Seriously, this is incredible playing. Very well done.

  • I think this is my favourite part of BSS, and you covered it perfectly! You're amazing!

  • amazing!! fantastic performance of a very difficult piece

  • This can only bring a smile to your face . . .

    WOW

  • WOW! Excellent!

  • ELP fan?

  • @saleasylum What do you think?

    ;-)

  • MAGNIFICENT!!!

I love this piece and have been planning to start working on it. I have been considering how to work in the bass and drums for solo piano. You've done such a great arrangement - and played a tempo as this piece should be. I'm now going to study this video over and over.

Did I mention this was mindblowingly awesome? THANK YOU!!!

  • I am flabbergasted. Amazing talent!

I heard Rachel was at the Orpeum show in LA...me too. Would love to hear what she thought of the show!

  • Other than it being so incredible, I am most impressed with how perfect her fingering is, I mean really, it's flawless!

  • I hope she becomes the next big thing and inspires the next generation of virtuosos....great tribute to Keith....the future of music is good......

  • Best wishes to Rachel from Italy. She deserves a brilliant career!

  • OMG. This is fantastic. I have been listening to this piece since 1972 and have always been floored by it. To see it performed so brilliantly by somebody that is not Emerson is fantastic. Also, am a little bit jealous that I can't do it.

  • fantastic playing by the young lass i am well impressed

  • this is just INSANELY amazing.

  • Holy smokes - where did this young pianist learn to play this music? I've heard Karn Evil 9 hundreds of times but only by the composer, Keith Emerson. I'm astonished by the way she performed this piece. Incredible performance!

  • yuo are a real talented pianist!

  • Rachel, This is a masterpiece!

  • 2:35-2:45

  • Yeah Rachel! Way to pwn that piano!

  • I did the sound for California Jam.

  • @Caljamscott That has to have been an amazing experience!

  • @Caljamscott If that's true, then hat's off to you, mister. The recordings of Deep Purple on California Jam are one of the very few where they can be heard well.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • magnífico!

  • I have been an ELP fan for over 30 years. This is absolutely astonishing, not just her technical facility at a metronome-breaking speed, but her use of dynamics at such a speed. I have never seen anything like it, even from Emerson himself. Please do the rest of Karn Evil 9 (1st and 3rd impressions), Tarkus and perhaps the 1st piano concerto, too.

  • Incredible!

  • Well, that was extremely impressive to say the least. Absolutely brilliant.

  • Awesome job, thank you !

  • She makes my hands hurt just watching her.
