@TurbulentG Doubt away buddy, i have a 180sx with SR20, i bought the car stock and modified it myself, including forged internals, turbo, ecu, injectors, etc etc. and i race it in supersprints on Mount Panorama ( Australia's most famous race track ) and beat every evo that enters. although i will happily admit a stock evo shits on anything else brand new for the same money, so i was wrong in that regard.

i didnt see no boost spike it looked like it was holding pretty solid boost to mee. i think you just saw the needle boumce bit..i know my boost gauge is a bit jumpy this thing is only bossting at like 10 maybe 15 psi i had my golf set at 25 psi

Mitsubishi EVO is the ultimate family car. And I don't mean this as an insult. It simply is mind blowing for a 5 seater sedan. The suspension is more refined than in the Impreza and it can actually beat a 500+ hp Lambo around the track... What more can you ask for (especially at such a wonderful price)?

That is just the FQ-400. They make bang for buck cars and are nice but their turbocharged engines do not last very long

Yeah, of course that when they squeeze 400 hp from a 2.0 liter engine via turbo, then they're not gonna last (and require service every minute they do last). But thanks to the mega advanced suspension, even their lower (sub 300 hp) 2.0 turbos have shown great performance (at that price level). I am a Toyota/Lexus man, but I respect Mitsubishi and to some extent also Subaru very much. (Especially as long as we're talking unmodified cars.)

@jakubkrcma I asked for a good looking car and bought the 350Z, even though it hasn't got the same performance and engine tuning possibilities, I still prefer it a thousand times over the EVO because the EVO looks like a pimp car or something, especially with the big rear wing. But it is still a nice car, but not as nice as the 350Z ;-)

@cody5002005 Well, maybe not the regular ~300 hp, but since the FQ400 was obviously much better (even in Clarkson's hands it was a bit better, so in the hands of the same driver MUCH better), the FQ360, FQ320 etc. are not entirely out of it. :-) I bet I can drive a regular EVO just as fast as Clarkson can drive a Murcielago around the Top Gear track. :-)))

He is not revving to to the max - he has GEMS ECU - which as a change light on the engine light when it reaches the point when you have MAX bhp. Its normal.
