  • Pointing a camera at the screen is always bad.

  • Genesis FTW. Better controls than the snes version. Better character models with smoother animation. Kick ass. But or 32 bit versions, the saturn is the best

  • I've played the Genesis version more times than any other version, and I loved every second of it. Kintaro is such a bitch to fight with that damn blast processing

  • en psx tiene la mejor grafica pero el sonido apesta

    despues voto por el snes.

  • the megadrive version was the best

  • SNES SOUNDS LIKE BUNCH OF FARTS!

  • Comment removed

  • SNES was hands down the best version of this game......

  • SNES version was best.

  • lol they ruined this game in the 3d games .. look so nice it was

  • snes was the best hands down

  • I was never good at MK at the arcade. On my game boy, tho... I could dance on fools with jax and scorpion

  • best version its play for mame arcade 9.1 hack version

    maximum respect from video

  • Playstation version music, is NOT like arcade music

  • @MASOFENT its a true fact, since the time ive made the video, ive discoroved how the playstation version looked different from what I thought years ago. When Ill have time, I will do a Retake Mortal Kombat Version Compilation for the first three MK (UMK3 is not needed thought)

  • 32X version wins, on home consoles

  • @MASOFENT Snes version is the best

  • Japanese MK2 had green blood not red.

  • the snes version of mk2 is better than the snes mk3??? is that a good thing or a bad thing? haha

  • Hi, SuperDave341. Remember my account called 'georgesheardexpress9', what did you think of my Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 SNES Review?

  • @GeorgeSheard1 Im not sure if I do. If you can, send me the video links so I can see if I do remember it (because I cannot start searching for the review since many people did a review of this game)

  • @SuperDave341 Sorry. My georgesheardexpress9 account got suspended so I can't give you a link. :(

  • I personally think the SMS is superior to the GG

  • i just sold my saturn and mk 2 with 28 other games, saturn version was disapointing.

  • @ward7921 I personnaly like the Saturn version alot but I should admit that the gameplay is very different (slower, different CPU reaction, lousy Internal Saturn Music)

  • no offence but your camera work is shoody, if you are going to record the game you could have used hypercam like in the arcade version...it would have saved alot of the cameraing on your half as well

  • @nickadoo50 this has been fixed in the latter MK compilation except for MK version that I cant play on emulator

  • the best gameboy Mortal kombat,

MK1,3 and 4 sucked on the GameBoy

  • the thing i hated about the SNES version was the lack of blood, but the graphics were better than sega genesis's version

  • MK2 for the SNES DO Have blood, i think you are talking about the SNES version of the first mk

  • @SuperDave341 The arcade version of mk2 had more blood on certain fatalities. For example kung lao's slice in half.

  • @grgmj1980 This is a true fact, according to some source ive read, the reason why the SNES or any port but the Ps1 and Saturn version has les blood was simply because of the system limitation

  • computers always do fatalities in the saturn version

  • It depend, its true they do fatalities more often than the other version but they are not always doing it (instead they do either a uppercut or I have already seen a CPU Johnny cage doing me a shadow kick)

  • Arcade and Snes are best ;D

  • The snes version was the best conversion back in the days

Now I got the arcade game on ps2 and love it :)

  • The snes version was perfect for the controls, but the different developer and consequently different looking sprites, and sounds ruined that version for me.

It's a shame because if the snes port would have been done by the great 'Wlliams' it would have been damn near perfect.

  • Im curious about the fact that William would have done a perfect port of the game. What do you mean?

  • Williams developed the original game along with Midway.

The home versions had the exact same team behind the ports, except the snes version for some reason.

Why the port would be better with Williams you ask?

Because surely the original coder is a better option than a third party one.

  • you make me learn something , I thought the original MK was made by the Midway core team only. I agree with you that all the port (even the GB) are all made by acclaim and probe entertainment but the SNES one . Sculptured software did the snes one with acclaim.

  • this in my opinion is the best mortal kombat game ever made and i think it is good on all consoles nice video

  • I can tell you that its the case : D

  • Wow, top review of MK2, and to the dude below, he did show the arcade MK2, and he also agreed, the arcade MK2 is totally the best!, LONG LIVE STREET FIGHTER 2, (dont hurt me!).

  • *Stabs Rouke2001 with a ROFLKNIFE* jk, i like sf2,also

  • street fighter 2 is another classic for me (Its probaly one of the game ive played the most on the SNES and Arcade). I like both game and each serie has strengh and weakness. Both can have funny match/voice effet/move but mortal kombat can offer fatality and stage interaction but street fighter offer special combo and many stratigic element. Long live to both I could say

  • No version of this game comes anywhere CLOSE to touching the arcade version.

  • @VelvetKevorkian

Gameboy might look lame, but it is KICKASS!

  • i do agree with Boobidee, the game boy version is quite a impressive game for the system

  • The SNES version was great enough for me to practice at home so I could play the arcade in public. Both versions were the best. Right now, I can play the original arcade version in Midway Arcade Treasures. That game brings back good memories of my youth. I am referring to the times when Mortal Kombat was the most popular arcade game.

  • do you think you get a better experience by playing the arcade version on emulator or on midway arcade treasure?

  • I played them on Midway Arcade Treasures. If you like, observe them on my channel, but I was just as good as anybody else.

  • I mean the shang tsung morph into kintaro , it works on my snes but not on psone

  • oh normally you need to hold Low Punch during 30 second (so you hold it the whole match). I don'T know if it work with the psone version but if the psone version is close the sega saturn version , I assume you can but they changed the button combination

  • need help please : does anyone know if it is posible to do the kintaro fatality on psone ??

  • kintaro do not have a fatality in any version of the game. There is one case however in one of the shang stung fatality that cause him to tranform himself to kintaro and punch the opponent in half

  • If you are going to film your tv at least disable the autofocus!

  • Still Think The ArCade Version Is Tha Best!!!!!

  • that for sure buddy! : D

  • 32x owns the snes version and saturn version IMO. 32x has bettter graphics than snes and better controls and as for the saturn version, well load times are quicker, the animation from what ive seen looks faster on 32x. saturn version is my second fav.

  • yeah, it only took sega 3 console ports to get it right.

  • True, nintendo did it one and sega did it in three with a port better than the snes but not by much but graphic wise, gameplay wise it did.

  • there is 5 sega port of mortal kombat 2

    Sega Master

    Sega Game Gear

    Sega Genesis

    Sega 32x

    Sega Saturn

I personally think that if the sega saturn version would have the speed of the sega genesis or SNES version , it would be the ultimate one

  • the best mk game!

  • If only I had the Japanese only PS1 version of MK2. That'd be awesome! :)

  • try to get the US sega saturn version, it is very simmilar to the ps1 version in many way

  • i wish they would redo MK3 just with better graphics

all the characters & the background is all 3d - but its still the same 2D gameplay as mk3.

If I knew how to code, I would do it. Everything else is cake to do.

  • well when it comes to console ports the SNES is the best but nothing can beat the Perfection of the Arcade Machine

  • although the snes is still the superior version, at least this time the genesis version was pretty good, as opposed to mortal kombat 1 where the genesis version looked like an nes game.

  • Well the graphic of MK1 GEN is pretty good for the system standard and its true that MK 2 got better graphic. I agree that MK 1 GEN , although it have blood , could not be compared to the SNES one but the second can

  • According to critics maybe, but the 32x plays closer to the arcade than the snes and has better graphics, controls also and has the same if not more voices than the snes.

  • MK2 is the BOMB !!! All that 3d Xbox bullshit will never beat the time spent doing fatalities on a good old snes !

You're right to love that game, it's 100% worth it !!

  • OH YEEAHHHH, I like to see fan of this classic XD

  • on the sega genesis aka megadrive version highlight options and press

LEFT DOWN LEFT RIGHT DOWN RIGHT LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT

congratulations u now have a new lot of cheats miss these old games

  • i know that one X D

  • DAmnn this guy likes this game !

    HAHAHAHA

  • what so funny? look if you a here to try to be funny you came at the wrong place

  • What is nostalgia? But I agree with SSJVegeta1000 on the gens and snes part. Never played any other versions ecxept MAME. I'm actually kinda dissapointed in the Saturn ver. becuase I thought it would be a direct arcade port, whats up with the wierd music.

  • this is what i mean when the sega saturn got a special atmosphere not seen in other verison

  • The SNES port is overrated is hell. I had it and honestly the Genesis port is better. Maybe not graphics and sound, but gameplay and controls are better. The SNES version had to be built from the ground up while the fighting engine on the Genesis port was base doff of the arcade. The 32x port is definitely the best arcade port.

  • Well althought i may agree with you , my nostalgia for SNES MK2 make this game my definitive version. For superiority , you should see the sega saturn version

  • Well being a Sega fan I would normally agree with you, but I loved the Super NES version and could not stand the Genesis version. However I did like the 32 X and Sega Saturn version.

  • no one can beat mortal kombat 2 beat game ever

  • On the SMS and game boy , I can beat the game with about 0 to 5 credit

on the other version , I need about 2 to 6 credit. Liu Kang and Kintaro are really the difficult character in all version except game boy (kintaro is not here)

  • Cool man you have all mk2 version nice vid dude!

  • Im only missing the sega 32x version , the game gear version and the computer one

  • hey can u put the sega saturns mk charecter select song because i like it so much

  • I don'T know how to rip music from a real system : /

  • mjdoomreviews the saturn version is compared to the playstaion stupid

  • Well for myself , I do compare all the version of MK 2 and not just the 2 most superior. But its true that if you compare the hardware that the game is on, you should use the 2 most superior

  • i posted on the wrong video! lol

  • the saturn version is not an enhanced megadrive or 32x version the controls and over all gamplay is different i dont know why you think this and anyway my favorate port is the 32x just above the snes the controls are a lil more responsive (you notice if you play on very hard) graphics a lil better and so is the sound fx but its much easier to get the snes so i reccomend you get that

  • well even thought you posted in the wrong video , I can still reply to you. My true favorite version is the SNES primaly because of nolstagic, but the most superior home version of the game is on the sega saturn. The sega saturn is even closer than the japanese only playstation 1 version (and easier to get) but the most acessible version is the SNES and genesis

  • The 32X version is nearly arcade perfect in terms of actual gameplay and the graphics are more sharper than the SNES version. That versions owns.

  • Well , the Sega Saturn version is the most perfect of all. Althought the game is slower than the arcade , the gameplay is the same and the graphic/sound are the most superior. The music in other hand is not arcade quality and use the sega saturn internal audio. It produce a weird atmosphere not seen in other version

  • If you get mortal kombat shoalin monks for xbox or ps2. You can get mortal kombat2 if you beat all the smoke missions.

  • MK2 was taken out of the PAL version. Not sure why though......

  • The PAL version of MK:Shaolin Monks

  • Ive heard it was because of a major programming glitch.

  • not in the PAL version

  • This video is very good:-)

    Bye bye

  • So many damn ports for that game, it's not even funny.

I think they should've shot for a Dreamcast version of this game, I think they'd do it right. There are so many ports of MK II with flaws and pluses different from eachother, some you may notice right off the bat, and some you may not know.

It's just hard to bring an arcade classic and perfect it on a console for some games. For the Arcade, games in the Arcade were known to have the better graphics and sound and everything.

  • I do think that a dreamcast version of this game could not be possible as a standalone game because its too outdated for the system but they could have done a midway arcade treasure for the dreamcast.

  • I've played all 3 version and i'm a huge Sega fan but the 32X versions is simply not better than the SNES version. The music is awful and while there are more voices Liu Kang is still missing his voice. If it were arcade perfect then it wouls sh!t all over the SNES version but it's not.

  • to slow the snes mk2, but each to their own. Although that crappy repeating'oie' sound when you punch someone was "awful" on snes, really. and the character sprites where small and blury. 32x one sure aint perfect, but any upgrade of the dark styled genesis one was sure sweet. once you got over the dissapointment of it not being as close to the arcades as you would like of course. as a "Sega fan" you don't mind me sticking by genesis/32x do you? he he

  • Its true that the 32X version is a big improvement to the Genesis version but I still think that the Super Nintendo is better but not by much since its 16 bits v.s. 32 bits

  • The Closer arcade perfect looking is the sega saturn version. But the SNES is the best overall

  • SNES=epic win

GENE=meh good but snes had blood so if you had snes and genesis no real point in geting the gene ver.

GB=realy good somehow becase MK 1 on GB blew ass

    GG=gameboy ver. with better,GFX,sound,and color

PSP(midway hits)=allmost perfect just a little loading issues and a few missing frames.

the rest i dont know havnt played the other ports

  • SNES= I just think like you, it was awsome

GEN= Its not really bad but the difficulty is higher than any other version

    GB= Agree with you :D

    GG= Agree also!

Ive never tryed the psp version of MK2 but as ive heard the game is a litte glitched

  • yeah it is a little like the clouds not being on one of the stages

  • personally my favorite was the saturns, but Im certain that the 32xs was the best of the 90s. no loading problems, smooth graphics with a high framerate, improved and faster genesis gameplay, More animations, vibrant colors and character frames than snes... I really know those 3 versions well and I would say 32X technically must be better overall. Thats just me though.

  • The saturn version is the most superior version in term of graphic and music (even thought the music is weird in this version). My favorite version is the SNES because ive gre up with

  • Yes definatly saturns was really beautiful. It looks and sounds so good that It was one of my favourite games for saturn. But that loading during a 2 player match bugged me espesially in a close fight. Simply overall mk2 on 32x looked second best and still had almost all background and character animations while both snes and more so for genesis are missing details,It also played about as good as snes even a litte faster for some of the combo attacks and had the most fast/fun 2 player yet.

  • yes I can agree with you about a 2 player game on the sega saturn. The only version of MK ive never played is the 32x version. Never tryed on emulation or as a real game.

  • MK2 had a lot of versions , mega success

  • yes this is one of the few game to be ported on alot system but I think its the only game in the world who is avaible on all sega system but dreamcast

  • I had the game for Amiga and i had 4 discs. The first part was on 3 discs!

  • do you still have it?

  • i bought the ps3 version of it.sweet

  • Yes that game is good but also a little difficult at the end

  • You have almost every original version of MK2...that´s great!

I liked the Sega Genesis version, it seems to be very good, and sounds great (music, sound effects) IMO. I only used to play with de Snes version.

And i also like to fight with rayden, he was made to kick ass lol.

  • The original version I was playing was SNES at a friend house and sega saturn at another friend house and I liked them

  • Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 are better on the Master System rather than the Game Gear, in my opinion.

  • If you don't have a scratched screen on your game gear, then it better on.

  • DevilMaster , thx you , for the version I didn't own ive cheked the internet and ive saw that PC was supposed to be a arcade perfect. Thx you for your information.

  • Also, rather ironically, the PC version had the same sound effects as the arcade in IFF (Amiga) format, while the Amiga version had different, inferior sound effects.

  • The amiga was inferior because it was ported from the megadrive version to match the Amiga 500's processor (68000, this was to save time in production, also the amiga chips set ECS is almost the same as the megadrive vdp graphics) and as for the sound FX they only used 3 disks, each disk on the amiga could only hold 880kb of data, original arcade game 16MB amiga version 2.64mb or even lower!

  • The PC DOS version wasn't exactly the same as the arcade version: it had MIDI music (and of course the resolution was lower).

  • The Japanese version for Mortal Kombat 2 from SNES have a green blood, also USA version for MK2 have red blood. How many compilation version for MK and MK2 games?

  • I was thnking about the next compilation but I don't have really free name but It would be probaly done someday

  • Will you do a Comparison of Mortal Kombat 3?

  • None of the MK2 got this fatality as far as I know. His 2 fatality on all version but game boy game gear/sega master system are:

    Froze and uppercut

    Ice snowball

  • Does Sub-Zero have the spine ripping fatality in the SNES(US) version of MK2?
