  • Thank you for this video.

  • The diffuser isn't a wide angle anything. The plastic cover built into the unit that slides out is the wide angle adapter (from 24mm to 14mm).

  • @blickblocks It does help diffuse and spread out the light. When both flip down cover and external diffuser are used at the same time, you get a nice soft look, at the cost of some light loss.

  • @LEXPIX Yes it does, it's a diffuser. it's not a wide angle adapter.

  • @blickblocks If I said wide angle adapter, I meant diffuser. i have three and know better.

  • My SB-700 has a green backlight. I have actually never seen the SB-700 with blue backlight before I saw this video. Do you know if there are SB-700's with different backlight color? And thanks for making this size comparison :)

  • @erik75648 The blueish one is the only one I'm aware of.

  • thanks!! good video!

  • you got the finger thing going

  • @prmass1 Yup, so I've been told. LOL

  • In my opinion, SB-600 looks the nicest, SB-700 is the one I would like and the SB-900 is just far too big for me.

  • @175myles I think its becoz it gives a bigger light source@@

  • @hippo71124, After holding the SB-900 its not even that heavy.

  • @175myles yep it surely is heavy- -

  • @hippo71124, Depends on what you are used to I suppose, I carry my D7000, Sigma 150-500 and SB-600 all at once without a mono pod and I can do that easily for more than 40 minutes before it strains on my arms.

  • @175myles haha I can too, but I myself is very hard to save money to buy my dream D300 and SB 900 and etc, after all I am just a secondary school student in HK, and I am using D60 now@@

  • @hippo71124, That's a good goal, I'm 19 and have a goal to get a 24-70 2.8 and a macro lens.

  • @175myles Eh big brother ( I am 15 haha) xDDD, by the way in the hands, though not that heavy, but SB 900 is really a Gozilla to a human hahha

  • @hippo71124, Minus the death and destruction lol =D

  • @175myles Hahaha you're right XDDD

  • I'm thinking to get another flash for potraits. I have SB900 right now but I'm thinking should I buy SB900 or Sb700... which one should I pick and I'm bit tight on budget...

  • @FinlandApollo I'd got for the SB700 since you already have the 900. Although two SB900 would give you maximum power and versatility with equal ratios.

  • @FinlandApollo but a 700 , since its smaller and more practical !! and less wait , but still its a very good flash :D

  • @gajetjoe true :D but the lack of PC port is a big minus...but...nevermind, I can't afford either of these flashes because I bought 70-200mm 2.8 VR I :P

  • @FinlandApollo hehehe iam really desprate caz photography is a really expensive art , and i have 5 stuf on my list to buy .....and now i got attracted with a lens baby , CONTROL FREAK ...as if i hadnt enough to buy stuff :P

  • @gajetjoe True...but just 5?!? I've got 50 :D not really, just 25... :D Maybe the thing I'm going to buy next is the Midrange lens :P 24-70mm. And by the way, Lensbaby is a wonderful and very different kind of lens. In the beginning, I hated it and thought that it was my the worst investment, but now I love it.

  • @FinlandApollo well these 5 r the lenses that i can afford, but i want to the 400mm, 70-200mm 2.8.an 8mm eyefish ...but i still cant afford such stuf :P yeah its a very sweat lens

  • so which one do you recommend to get?

  • A useful video...more than I can say for most on Youtube.

  • @MrSteveo357 Thanks and agreed.

  • Joe McNally said bother SB-600 and SB-700 don't give out the power output like the SB-900 does. I guess the 900 gives you more light...

  • @citizenofvirginity yup, the SB900 puts out an extra stop and a half of output in my unscientific testing compared to the SB600.

  • weih shook! ang tengok dak?

  • Where can I get the sb900 for 350$ or did I misunderstand the price you stated in the video?

  • I agree, the SB 700 is a perfect compromise between the two other Nikon flashes. Spec wise it does almost everything the SB 900 does and it is smaller and cheaper. I could see owning all three like you do for multi flash set-ups and applications. Thanks and well done!

  • @kg6qzx Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I'm really liking the SB-700 and may pick up another one.

  • Great video man! I've used SB600, SB800 and just bought the SB700. I was thinking about getting SB900 but it's too heavy for me and since I don't do a lot of strobist work, SB700 and SB800 were good enough for fill light and to bounce it.

Great comparison by the way. Keep the videos coming.

  • @PhotographersOnUTube Thanks. Agreed, the SB900 is kinda bulky compared to the SB700 and the features it offers.

  • Very informative and well produced as always. Great Vid.

  • @monkeyboy85 Thanks man. I'm trying to make my vids a little more polished.

  • Thanks for sharing!!

  • @patje0109 You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
