700R4's can be strengthened. personally i like them, i need to have overdrive. turbo 350s have no overdrive, so you take a big hit in mileage

can you get a power glide with overdrive? i thought you could but dont really know

Overdrive is not available on a Powerglide. A power glide is basically a two gear tranny.
