great footage.....thats a good sizes grizzly, i think if it were open ground the wolves would have tried to harrass the bear away, this was nice to see, must have took much patience to capture all this on film, nice job !

Great footage. I loved it when the ber took a water break and came back to the wolves poking around the body.

The bear was lucky that there was so many fallen trees around so the wolves couldn't surround him, harrass him, and push him off.

Exactly. Wolves stamina allow them to fight for hours backing and biting, but they need enough space for that strategy.

Wolves are very difficult to film this close because of their fear & shyness towards humans. May I ask how close were you to the action? Damn, I envy you. Keep 'em coming, Thanks!

We were across the water in the foreground, a small lake I think about 500 yds. We were accompanied by quite a few rangers who were also excited to see the bear and wolves together. It was October, the only people left in the park were photographers and hard core wildlife watchers. I sat on a log for nine hours, stopping only once with my daughter to eat lunch and use facilities. There were only about 20 people watching, it was great.

You guessed it! We've been watching the "saga" for four days. I like your video of the bear dragging the elk, I missed that moment. As of this afternoon, the wolves are gone, the carcass can't be seen, (not even the antlers), and the bear has been slowly moving up the hill, sleeping both times we checked on it today.
