Old time Stryper fan here. When I wanted to give up secular rock, Stryper was one of the bands that gave me an awesome, Christian alternative.
I understand fully what they are trying to do with the "Covering" album. But, would Jesus come singing on Ozzy song to get someone saved? That's the quandery....
I know these people need reached and saved, and I have been praying for many of them over the years. Maybe this is one way God will use....
Only go where the Holy Spirit leads YOU! Because of my love of music, I can tell you right now that if it wasn't for people like Stryper, especially this song, "First Love" , I would not be here now!!! They are ANOINTED to do what they do and go where they go, that's why there is fruit from their ministry. The songs are NOT being played by evil hearts. Our Father is using Strypers gifts and talents to get the lost folks attention. But the CD itself is their Testimony in a way, to show these folks a better way. However, unless you are a minister to the lost and hurting you wouldn't see that. Luke 4:18 - why Jesus came.

This and Honestly are my favorite Stryper songs. i saw them in concert once and the whole room glowed with love and the Holy Spirit. it was the second most amazing religious experience of my life. The first? Being baptized.
I grew up to this group and so loved them and then when they came to the back room in austin tx, at my age of 36 I got to see them for the first time and meet them an they are the sweetest guys youll ever meet!! Still gorgeous and the voice still golden and wow am glad I had the chance of a lifetime!!
Their best music was the ballads. I love the rocking stuff too but I think songs like this helped define who stryper was. It also helped them spread their ministry. Many did not realize that they were listening to a Christian song until they were already hooked.

As far as the Gay thing id concerned inChristianity. As a Christian I judge no man. Jesus didn't really have much to say about homosexuality if he even said anything. He did however, state in the Olivet sermon...'Judge not that you may not be judged....'

Old time Stryper fan here. When I wanted to give up secular rock, Stryper was one of the bands that gave me an awesome, Christian alternative.
I understand fully what they are trying to do with the "Covering" album. But, would Jesus come singing on Ozzy song to get someone saved? That's the quandery....
I know these people need reached and saved, and I have been praying for many of them over the years. Maybe this is one way God will use....
Not entirely sure if it's right....

Because of my love of music, I can tell you right now that if it wasn't for people like Stryper, especially this song, "First Love" , I would not be here now!!! They are ANOINTED to do what they do and go where they go, that's why there is fruit from their ministry. Jesus was judged by religious leaders, so don't get caught up in judging the messenger, hear the ENTIRE message. Don't be religious, be Jesus with skin on to all the lost and hurting. Love'em!

They grew up on this music just like we did. How many metalheads would listen to you if you didn't talk their language? The CD "Covering" is like their testimony, paying homage but still pointing people to Christ as the only way! Jesus came for the LOST!! Jesus was always ridiculed for hanging out with lost sinners. It grieves my spirit that you sound like those religious leaders. Recognize ministry apart from entertainment. You and I would go to be entertained. The lost however, have an appointment with the Lord to "choose this day whom they will serve". We are in the last of the LAST days, and our Father doesn't want ANYONE to perish. I am also a minister, since 1995. Pray!

@mrcooldude964 The one thing I also wanted to point out at the same time is that, the members of Stryper are all skilled musicians and the songs on that CD are no easy feat to play. The songs are NOT being played by evil hearts. Our Father is using Strypers gifts and talents to get the lost folks attention. But the CD itself is their Testimony in a way, to show these folks a better way. However, unless you are a minister to the lost and hurting you wouldn't see that. Luke 4:18 - why Jesus came.

This and Honestly are my favorite Stryper songs. i saw them in concert once and the whole room glowed with love and the Holy Spirit. it was the second most amazing religious experience of my life. The first? Being baptized.

I grew up to this group and so loved them and then when they came to the back room in austin tx, at my age of 36 I got to see them for the first time and meet them an they are the sweetest guys youll ever meet!! Still gorgeous and the voice still golden and wow am glad I had the chance of a lifetime!!

Their best music was the ballads. I love the rocking stuff too but I think songs like this helped define who stryper was. It also helped them spread their ministry. Many did not realize that they were listening to a Christian song until they were already hooked.
