NSX's have only 40 more hp than an s2000 and quite a bit more weight. the nsx is a faster car thats sure, but only in a straight line. we're talking stock of course.
first that s2000 was getting blown away. and second no an nsx would not beat a 911 turbo. a 911 targa could take an nsx. nxs's are a discrace to exotics. $100,000 for a car that would get beat by corvettes. nsx 0-60 is 5 sec. a $40,000 subaru legacy could do that.
sure you get a car that looks like $200,000 for %100,000 but if you're going to take that route why not get a lotus esprit which is about the same price with about the same styling but better performance.
But we live in the real world, the nsx will not break down or have any mechanical faults and it sounds better so there will be no lack of excitement. Don't get me wrong iam a lotus man myself, but if i had to buy one of the two with my own money it would be the more exclusive (senna designed) nsx.
And don't forget that the Porsche can put all that power to the ground through all its wheels which also gives it a definite advantage over the S2000.
I'm a Porsche fan, however this is nothing to brag about. The base level 996 is a 3.6 liter flat six that puts out around 300hp. Whereas the S2000 is a 2 liter inline 4 that puts out 240hp. Considering the extra 60hp that the 911 has over the S2000, I'd say the little 4 cylinder did pretty dang good.

The standard boxster is faster around the track as we have seen. Repeatedly.
The 'S' does 0-60 in 5.4s.. which is imcomparable.

The price tag is not that dissimilar to the Honda..
I currently live in Sydney, S2000 is about $90kAUD, and a Boxster S is $120k. Standard boxsers are $99k.
So porsche wins hands down
