my band and i did a show with a bunch of guys that tried to do wht the Flobots did, mixing rock and hip hop, only they did it with speed metal and hip hop....bad idea haha
o.o Does he have a hand twitch just wondering xD also It's pretty bad live but its awesome usaually :D my favorite are handlebars, rise, and combat their Awesome
i love the job they do with not only the lyrics, but if you listen to the original song you can hear the opening violin riff repeated throughout except for the climax where it is washed away by distorted guitars and drums (where the drums and guitar act in a manner of corruption and demise, and the violin acts as the childhood memories). i love listening to this song because it motivates me. FINALLY, smart music.
I think this version is better than the recorded one; feels much more powerful towards the end. And of course, my two cents is that it's about how too much ambition can lead to dire consequences; all fascist leaders got their through their own massive ambition, and the song builds up from childish boasting to bragging about business and eventually to fascist control.
personally i think it's more egotism (feeling omnipotent and superior to everyone) and the fact he is given unlimited power as no-one challenges it...after all, all leaders rely on the apathy of the majority until it becomes too late for people to stand up to them without grievious consequences. other than that i think you have it spot on!! ..also how seemingly insignificant character flaws can spiral out of control if there's no-one to balance them out...hence 'no handlebars'
And you are looking not so deep, bona221. If you see the music video of this song you'll see how shows the total control we suffer from our goverments. And the video shows the way to the New World Order and The Police State. I even saw a Chemtrails in the original music video for that song. So think again, over the things you see ;)
Yep. I suffer every day. I love this song, and I agree with a lot of it's message, but I'm pretty sure most people in America aren't suffering, they just aren't as spoiled as they like to be, giving them the mindset that they are in a state of constant suffering.
its not about 1 guy growing up its about two guys. a good one and a bad one. the idea of the no handle bars is refering to an accomplishment u can be proud of. and then it goes on to list some of mankinds accomplishments and highlights how they have only done bad things. for example splitting atoms of molecules is how we came up with nuclear bombs etc. the whole message is dont abuse power.
awesome tune, about time a band told people how it really is,instead of the usual bullshit u get on u tube well done guys keep up the good work FUCK THE SYSTEM.oh thanks for the posting good job.
this song is about how people accomplish things.first its a kid rideing a bike with no hands then he grows up and accomplishes more like splitting a molecule..then he is at the top and can do whatever he wants. then it goes back to the lil kid where it starts over again. its about the power people can get in there life and how they use it but this just what i believe
Im glad that someone has the balls to stand up and let the world know their governments are crooks and traitors and that they have no interest in protecting our natural rights anymore. The Flobots speak the truth.
It's rather speaking a message about how someone can go from a best friend to someone so drunk on power he's willing to kill his friend(s) just to get what he wants.
yeah i get goosebumps after johnny 5 (the vocalist)starts to sing "in a houlacost" i love this band, all of their songs are so powerful and touching. they give u a whole new perspective of the world
onlyplaytabs...your statement is incorrect.you see...the microphone in the camera is usually bursting because the amps are turned up to a ....well....bursting level.so my point is....you are a fucking retard

Mr dapimp, that is a viola my friend, not a violin. I have to speak out for the viola!
It is one octive lower than a violin, it is richer, darker than a violin. More violas!
Great song!
