i love the job they do with not only the lyrics, but if you listen to the original song you can hear the opening violin riff repeated throughout except for the climax where it is washed away by distorted guitars and drums (where the drums and guitar act in a manner of corruption and demise, and the violin acts as the childhood memories). i love listening to this song because it motivates me. FINALLY, smart music.

I think this version is better than the recorded one; feels much more powerful towards the end. And of course, my two cents is that it's about how too much ambition can lead to dire consequences; all fascist leaders got their through their own massive ambition, and the song builds up from childish boasting to bragging about business and eventually to fascist control.

personally i think it's more egotism (feeling omnipotent and superior to everyone) and the fact he is given unlimited power as no-one challenges it...after all, all leaders rely on the apathy of the majority until it becomes too late for people to stand up to them without grievious consequences. other than that i think you have it spot on!! ..also how seemingly insignificant character flaws can spiral out of control if there's no-one to balance them out...hence 'no handlebars'
