i dont care what people and the press say only thing i know is steroids or not to hit a ball coming 90+ mph in a fraction of a second is extremely hard..bring any regular guy that has never play baseball put him on steroids and let him try to hit a home run against a single A pitcher i can bet my life he wont even smell that baseball.
Steroids do not make you a better baseball player that like saying long finger make you a better guitar player.Sure you can reach better but it does not make hit notes accutatly.Steriods will not make you hand-eye coordination better.Im sure babe ruth was a body builder.
@megadeth1056 WRONG. As a fan of the 1980's Athletics, as a fan of Jose, Mark, & the rest of em, I will STILL admit steroids DOES make you a better player. If it didn't, they wouldn't use them, DUH. Of course, it does not make you "A" athlete, but it does make someone who is ALREADY an athlete, a much BETTER athlete. Get your facts straight before you try to back up your boyfriend Mark. Educate yourself on steroids, it does make you better, idiot.
Simply lifting weight overtime could make you get bigger so called naturally. Look at any young athlete and a lot of times their skinny the roids made him kinda bulky but he could have attained similar results without juice, but steroids can seriosuly boost your fast twitch muscle speed!
@102LBC I know man, it sucks he took them. He was my favorite player as a kid, when I found out he took them, it hurt the sport and records, but hey it's the past and hopefully someone can break the records with out the juice.
@102LBC you can take steriods, but it's hard work in the gym, batting practice, years and years of work. I couldn't take steroids and go there and hit 80 home runs, it's a question that will never be answered. He has always had the power, he proved that his rookie year, with 49 home runs, another record which will never be touched.
The fact that Jose Canseco told the truth and players and ignorant Americans turned against him shows how people would rather be lied to than be told the truth. At 0:51 Mark's eyelids look way too baggy for being such a young man.
@darlinkula1 Actually the admission and changing of attitudes is happening so its not so dismal as it may seem. I think it will only get better with more light being shed on the use of drugs in sports. I think this also takes more weight off of the younger generations of sports aspirants with less abuse likely in the future or at least not as bad. Though the media and most americans love to play the extravagant some of us want to play by the rules! Those who whistle blow should not be pariahs!
Know what's really stupid about this? 49 dingers is a great number for a rookie. The presenter with the annoying voice said it herself - he did it pre-steroids. So what's the big fucking deal here? He admitted it. Why do we need to see his muscles. Fucking tabloid artists.
McGwire hit 49 his rookie year without steroids though. So he had the talent. Steroids for baseball players helps them with stamina, and endurance throughout the year. As players play 162 games, towards the end of the season theyre worn out, and tired. But if youre on steroids you continue to play the season likes its the first game of Spring Training. Plus it gives you strength. Normal flyouts in the outfield now become homeruns.
dumb ass reporter, he never admitted to human growth hormone. His thighs aren't more defined there friggin huge ! Get your facts rite woman! TEST IS BEST
In 1961 they put an asterisk alongside Roger Maris's record because he had the temerity to break a record held by Babe Ruth. At the very least he did it without cheating. Now we make gods out of McGwire, Bonds and Sosa who make a travesty of the game. Boy, how things have changed!
@warwolfii "At the very least he did it without cheating."
How do you know that? Look at the Maris' stats. He hit 39 HR in '60 and 61 in '61.He never approached those numbers. Maybe he was just a guy in his prime with a lucky season, or maybe he had some help. it's not like steroids didn't exist back then.
@fivepoint0008 You're right on point with my beliefs...Hell, in the early days of baseball, you could drink a dang coca cola in the dugout and get a legal cocaine fix to pep you up for games.People from that era have admitted that doctors would give them shots and they had no idea what they shots contained...Plenty of people could have been juicing back then, although not NEARLY on the scale that they are now. I give Big Mac credit...he was drafted as a PITCHER...modern day Babe, lol.Not Quite!

@TheBodyandMind I laugh at idiots like you who think it's ok to see great baseball players who earned their records legitimatly and with honor have their records broken by cheaters who would NEVER have been able to do it without steroids.
@TheBodyandMind Really? You think its ok that he got his record from cheating? Because that's exactly what it is... it CHEATING. Because he most certainly used steiroids.
As far as for seeing them hit homers I liked it better. But he shouldn't go down in history for beating Maris since he cheated and used roids AND they play way more games then they did back in the day.
@astrolifter. I won't argue with any of what uv said, its fact. But to ad a little more, and show u where I'm comming from.
Just look at the comments "before" Mac admitted it, that's alll I'm saying. And Bonds being an asshole mite have a lil to do with it also, a good guy cheat is better than a asshole cheat I guess
@SuperGuitarman69 I agree on that statement. So what if you're strong? That doen't mean you could hit a long home run. Baseball is indeed a true testament to the hand-eye coordination
@cixthree Because mac has had the honesty to finally step up and admit to his use. Bonds has never done this. If you think it has anything to do with race then you are poorly mistaken. The civil war has been over for 150 years, and racial discrimination against blacks rarely happens anymore. If anything, the tables have turned and whites are the ones discriminated against.
Folks, I played baseball in college and gotten hurt my junior year. I did take steriods. STERIODS DO NOT MAKE YOU HIT A BALL FURTHER! They help you recoup and yes you do get stronger. But baseball is based around 2 main things. Hand and eye corridination and Bat speed. That's it. All there is to it. Mark McGuire has incredible hand to eye corrodination and his bat head speed? Never changed. Ever! He simply was able to play more because of the roids. He naturally improved. He is the best!
@astrolifter Yeah with science sports research years later just like with poor Roger Maris they will realize this and it'll be too late to right a wrong!
McGwire hit 49 HRs in his rookie year before he started using steroids. There's no doubt he was a great HR hitter and could have hit 50 without using. The question is whether he ever would have challenged the record. We'll never know which is why it's tainted.
Steroids or not, McGwire just has an incredible home run swing. If steroids made it that much easier Arnold would be the home run king. McGwire was hitting the farthest home runs since he was a kid. He was not a small guy his rookie season either. 6 foot 5 about 220 or 230 pounds is a big guy. He was gonna get more muscles with age and weight training regardless. I think he had a great chance of breaking records even without steroids.
I thought AP was suposed to be reporting the truth, watch it again and see all the opionion floating about. thats what all these Forums are for. what sucks is that i could be making money throwing my brainless thoughts around. so he did steroids i was completly entertained. it was awesome. bitch about baseball records then watch a guy get robbed out of a perfect game the other night cuz the umpire was stupid(he appologized). we got whats Fair and the recod books fighting against each other
What do Lyle Alzado, Barry Bonds, Jose Conseco, Marion Jones, and Muscle Beach have in common? Southern California. Horton, your comment is silly. Based on Mac's credibility and his inability to recall the substances he took, he took a lot of different anabolic substances.. Also, he lied about it so lamely it was like a parody. Pathetic. He should have stayed in 'roid closet. He doesn't deserve to set foot on a ML field again. Ever.

Thank you very much for banning it. No one can study this hormone any further. Just like no one could study human bodies when christians wanted to keep their bodies during medieval.

The Hall of Fame must have some serious financial benefits because many of them want to say that PEDs never contributed to their accomplisments. So what if they don't make it to the HOF. These guys have enough money to hand over their grandkids. Just admitt you took it to improve your game and you will get a lot of respect.
I dont think McGwire is being honest, with the exception of his rookie campaign, I think he did roids his whole career, look at him he looks like a beast!
its easy to say you would never take a drug and cheat, but if you could make millions, most people would, I would eat a dog turd for a little less than that, but not much though.
like in all sports, a few have to take all the blame, while all the rest sit back and laugh. Anybody that thinks this just started with these guys is ignorant. Been going on for a long time, in all sports, just different drugs. I guarantee you that Nolan Ryan used something, guarantee it, and so did hundreds of other players, and for alot longer than most imagine.
Defending the MONSTEROUS morphing as simply "motivated training" is delirious. Like they weren't already training to the MAX since HIGH SCHOOL for the chance to get to MLB. Of course they juiced and we all knew it before Jose spoke up... Geez man, Mcgwire sitting at the table in post game media press conferences was two thirds arms and one third torso... What does it matter anyway... It was fun to watch so why not make it MANDATORY to juice? Oh well...
Great way to show a biased, misinformed view of how steroids work. Maybe his size increase happened as a result of, I don't know, maybe lifting weights?
FYI, his stats fell during his final two years because of INJURIES.almost 30 home runs on fewer than 300 at bats, and not on steroids, is nothing to sneeze at.49 in his rookie year at 225lbs., and on top of that at Oakland Colisseum!
If steroids equal more home runs, then what about Ozzie Canseco?
man that is all mess. to put a bat on a ball traveling at those speeds and brecking that much, steriods are not, ne deserves a bust. why can a bodybuilder or a pro football player don't play baseball because baseball is about the eyes and the mind. it is a miss notion that the bigger the better, look at Scott Webb. He took them yes or no to do what he did is unbelivable. 49 homeruns in his rookie year think about a man putting up those stats his rookie years.
So what is the batting coach regimen going to consist of anyway? Warm up, run a few laps, hit a few, then a steroid injection break, followed by stretching, a little more batting practice....
does this woman realize that 29 home runs in 97 games (299 at bats) is still a lot? or is she just reading what they wrote for her? his average did fall to .187 in 2001
So, how do the rest of us benefit from these athletes who have figured out how to speed physical recovery & enhance their physical prowess? Now most of don't need the superman performance aspects, but would like to recovery some of the agility and flexibility that time has taken. So where's the research that these self doctoring atheletes have done that reviews the medication, dosage, & the frequency with which it's done to achieve their results. These guys did it sports & money. Just asking?
HEY GUYS I ACTUALLY DID A VIDEO ON THIS SUBJECT!!! maybe you could come to my channel and see that video. I would mean so much. I JUST HOPE YOU COME AND WATCH!
@mikeyrobins022585 steroidsR4losers, friends, followers and fans will continue to expose and humiliate the LOSERS who use STEROIDS and other DRUGS. We will get these CHEATERS to talk about their STEROIDS and other CHEATING methods that they use. Nobody will be able to stop us from letting people know who the LOSERS are.
Anyone can join in! Just start talking about their STEROIDS and other DRUGS that they use on the "STEROID videos" and watch as the LOSERS get mad. ;)

McGwire was a home run machine, no matter what.

man that is all mess. to put a bat on a ball traveling at those speeds and brecking that much, steriods are not, ne deserves a bust. why can a bodybuilder or a pro football player don't play baseball because baseball is about the eyes and the mind. it is a miss notion that the bigger the better, look at Scott Webb.

Great athlete.
The drug use is his business. The media does have a point though, it could effect his cells.

Just start talking about their STEROIDS and other DRUGS that they use on the "STEROID videos" and watch as the LOSERS get mad. ;)
