  • OTRO!!!

Thanks and so glad you came to the Blip Festival - had a great time working with you! Love your stuff!

  • what is the song / music used?

  • something i threw together so i could have a soundtrack ;-)

  • could I get it as an mp3? i think it is extremely well done!

  • wow.. i have tried a number of times to post a reply to this and it never goes through. i'm wondering if youtube blocks comments with URLs? anyway... thanks and the track is available on my site on the audio page. the one with gp2x in the title. parisgraphics DOT com

  • They do.

If you can do these kind of twisted viz on the gp2x I'm definitely considering buying it.

Nicely done btw, kinda digital laavaah.

  • Thanks - yeah, since the SDL library has been ported for the gp2x, you can do a lot. There's still a few things to be aware of like no floating point math but then you can use look up tables, etc. Overall, I recommend it. It's great to develop for.

  • Now all I have to do is learn C(++) and SDL >:(

Ah, what am I ranting, it's for a good cause, and from C you can go a lot of directions I guess. Added to that, there are many many tutorials out there.

    Btw, you = vcparis?

  • I highly recommend Sol's Tutorials (google that).

There's also Pygame which is a wrapper for SDL and is cross platform but C/C++ is faster.

Yes, Voltage Controlled is a collaborative project, everything we do is strictly analog. parisgraphics is my own stuff which is digital because it's not practical for me to carry around a bunch of electronics. I've even gotten tired of carrying a laptop so I moved from Pd/GEM to writing code for the gp2x. It's great to go to a show with nothing but that!

  • I can imagine. Basically the gp2x is a gift from the sky for the open-source community.

It's so cool to think about it, it's a little box of technology that you can fully adapt to your likings (if you have the knowledge, that is ;)).

  • True - although would be nice if there was a larger user base. Eventually I'd like to write a vj app that more people could use but the other platforms (e.g. PSP, DS) aren't very homebrew friendly.
