because of hip hop i droped 70 pounds so i could get better at at bboying and faster at graffiti. its made me a very confident and happy person that most people cant understand my contentment even though my life is somewhat ruined. but that is what hip hop is there for. us broken life people. its what keeps us going when no one else will
88 Detroit first radio and tape,I can remember me and my brothers, made the first surround sound.we walk the alleys looking for old TV"s and Radio's, and we took the speakers out and strung them all together, and rock this tape till it broke. I was 10 years old
Incredible track. LL demonstrated some serious storytelling skills on this track. Slick Rick owns the crown as the greatest storyteller in Hip-Hop. However, LL showed that he could hold his own and diversify his repertoire. "Charlie Brown grabbed the guitar and started to strum.." Classic.
THATS TRUE DUKE. i'm with you 100% yo your boy LL fucked me up when i first bought this shit in 87. my man standing on the whip with the leather, troops and kangol. THE ERA OF THE B-BOY!
@ewei318 and just think if all the haters and those who thought rap was garbage in the 70's and 80's had their way. We wouldn't have any Hip Hop. Leave the kids alone and be happy they left us alone back then
@ewei318 Well if all the people said fuck these rappers and didn't let them make records back in the day there would be no hip hop at all. So just like people let LL do his thing let the new school do theirs
Whats terrifying is the people posting here who have heard this before, or Run DMC, or Paris, Public Enemy, BDP....PLUS many more AND the UK had acts like London Posse, Demon Boyz, Gunshot, Killa Instinct, 2 Tone Committee and so much more too! Hip Hop is better than all this Lil Wayne/50 Cent bling garbage!!!!
i never discovered LL until '96, when he had that show 'in the house', and Doin It and Loungin were circulating on the radio heavy, then i went back and di my research on the guy, and i've been a fan since, he's THE GOAT in my eyes, his track record proves it - PEACE!

This track was sick back in the day.
Every time I see this cover I trip.
Andrew Jackson High right across the street from the house I grew up on on 208th street.
They shot the school & decided against the empty lot right across with broken bottles of Old E, & empty crack vials.
Still good memories tho.
Was rough but my home.
