  • Lyrically insane =D This is the original shtt! :)

  • I like how LL fans and Eminem fans won't fight, but as soon as you say one of the names on a Lil Wayne video, they all freak the fuck out.

LL and Em are fucking beast.

  • This track was sick back in the day.

Every time I see this cover I trip.

Andrew Jackson High right across the street from the house I grew up on on 208th street.

They shot the school & decided against the empty lot right across with broken bottles of Old E, & empty crack vials.

    Still good memories tho.

    Was rough but my home.

  • im gonna make something like this song but in my tale its about the twisted shit i see like the junkies that work at safeway the pigface lady that works at the library and the old basterd across the street in my tales theres trannys junkies cops all x rated shit ...feel me!!!

  • thanx to eminem im here

  • thanks to LL em is here for u to be here. @ jenn1ifer

  • Instrumentals like this one should be more recurrent nowadays with all the BS that be coming out

  • reminds me of a freaky girl back home, showed me loads of good rap

  • thanx to eminem im here

  • me too still a fan of ll cool j though

  • All about the lyrics here. True classic.

  • Smokin' sess with Sitting Bull?!

  • yo damn L alwayz had it he young as fuk here now hes a lil older n he still got hiz magic!!!

  • Summer time 88'...8 years old on a family trip to Maryland..my cousin was sleep ..I eased the headphones from his head, pressed play..." Then I hung out with Spiderman / He told me he was going to start a comicstrip band ".....By the end of the song I was a phene for HIP HOP...Actually ended up stealing my cousin's tape & helped him look for it all over the hotel room & the van....THANKS for the trip down Memory Lane...

  • great story homie... gotta love hip hop!

  • this album carried me through the summer 0f 87 when it was released! WOW! those were the days

  • awh thats cold, you gotta make amends for that homie. its your cousin.

ur around my age huh 30

  • 29 fam....I blame it on the HIP HOP it was like a drug that i had hit for te first time and instantly addicted to it ....I was like a phene....I had to have it in my ear !LOL my cousin was hot about that tape for a while ..even after he got another one and I never said a word( yeah I was wrong)..I believe when i let him borrow my Optimus Prime Transformer and he basically destroyed it then ALL was even.

  • lol u get a pass.

Im the same way, since day one I knew it was the form of expression that was accordance with what I felt inside.

Actually ima be 30 in september.... i could still claim im in my 20's.

I dont drink or drug anymore but hip hop music playin at the pad, or in my car is still the highest high ive ever known. My fav hip hop has empowered me to be happy as fuck

  • because of hip hop i droped 70 pounds so i could get better at at bboying and faster at graffiti. its made me a very confident and happy person that most people cant understand my contentment even though my life is somewhat ruined. but that is what hip hop is there for. us broken life people. its what keeps us going when no one else will

  • hell yea!

    It always empowers me too...

  • some one got me like that...

  • 88 Detroit first radio and tape,I can remember me and my brothers, made the first surround sound.we walk the alleys looking for old TV"s and Radio's, and we took the speakers out and strung them all together, and rock this tape till it broke. I was 10 years old

  • lol i remember playing tapes... I use to hate

when that shit would knot up & snap !!! dam I

feel old the 80's was 20 years ago..

  • on my momma my dad still got this on tape

  • i still got it on 45 vinal b side to i need love

    and im only 24yo

  • Incredible track. LL demonstrated some serious storytelling skills on this track. Slick Rick owns the crown as the greatest storyteller in Hip-Hop. However, LL showed that he could hold his own and diversify his repertoire. "Charlie Brown grabbed the guitar and started to strum.." Classic.

  • Slick Rick's rhyming schemes were boring, he never used multis or nothing like that

  • fucc jason from miami this ll cool j then lol

  • @ewei318 and just think if all the haters and those who thought rap was garbage in the 70's and 80's had their way. We wouldn't have any Hip Hop. Leave the kids alone and be happy they left us alone back then

  • @urbantaz ..Thank You...Well said

  • @ewei318 4 real fuck that all that noize soluja boy's makin hes destroying hip hop like ICe T said.

  • @ewei318 Well if all the people said fuck these rappers and didn't let them make records back in the day there would be no hip hop at all. So just like people let LL do his thing let the new school do theirs

  • *most*

  • SKEAZERS - I LOVE THIS SHIT

  • Jason From Miami

  • you a fool lol

  • @TheLyricalRAP haha.

  • @TheLyricalRAP

That was amazing. He sounded real awesome. A living legend.

  • @TheLyricalRAP LoL that call shit was funny

  • @TheLyricalRAP hahahaha

  • @TheLyricalRAP lmfao

  • eminem

  • Whats terrifying is the people posting here who have heard this before, or Run DMC, or Paris, Public Enemy, BDP....PLUS many more AND the UK had acts like London Posse, Demon Boyz, Gunshot, Killa Instinct, 2 Tone Committee and so much more too! Hip Hop is better than all this Lil Wayne/50 Cent bling garbage!!!!

  • this album was hard 7 grade rymin in the lunchroom.

  • @odyessseus1 you aint lying I was in the 9th grade rymin in the lunchroom.

  • just noticed this, but this song and LL's new song "Baby" have the exact same bass line, listen carefully.

  • i was born in '86, Radio came out in '85 - DAMN!

i never discovered LL until '96, when he had that show 'in the house', and Doin It and Loungin were circulating on the radio heavy, then i went back and di my research on the guy, and i've been a fan since, he's THE GOAT in my eyes, his track record proves it - PEACE!

  • lmao. i know =p

  • I'm definitely going to get this song. Thanks to Emin-errr Jason from Miami calling in 'cause I never knew about ll cool J.

  • HAHAHA YE ME TOO,

thanks to that radio show, i immediatly searched this song, cuz it sounded hot;p.

  • i listen to all of those already, cept Krs-One. Never heard of him before, so thanks :)

  • eminem prank called ll on a radio show and rapped his lyrics and shit... search for it

  • yeah lol. it was pretty funny "Jason from Miami". :P Thank god for that prank call, i would have never heard of LL Cool J. :( Im sad i didnt listen to him earlier. But i do remember Mama Gunna Knock You Out, from a LONG time ago. Anyways. Good upload ReturnFromTheGrave

  • one of Marshall Mather's fav tracks - lol

  • brings back so many memories, i used to listen to this all the time when i was 9-10 :P

  • "Just people body rock'n to the L.L ryme" TIGHT KID.....OFF THE HOOK..Wish he was back..

  • He never left dog. He goin with the flow of the years. Exit 13 cd release on 7/8/08 and check out his mixtape the return of the goat before the cd. LL is just a versatile nigga thats all. He care to make tracks for all peeps.

  • the niggers today cant hang with the master

  • Another classic jam from Uncle L.

  • I LOVE THIS

  • Yeah,,,he pretty dope back then..

  • fuck'n,awesome

  • I couldn't agree more. Definitely LL Cool J at one of his best moments as a storyteller. He doesn't go to the same levels with it as Will Smith, Notorious B.I.G. and Slick Rick, but whatever he does do execute is always quite impressive.

  • @ReturnFromTheGrave 2 yrs later. Will Smith? Will Smith is nowhere near the MC LL was and is!

  • @vinchinzo99 I just saw that guy's post too and couldn't believe that...and agree with you! Will Smith was a gimmicky rapper who failed and needed to go to the movies to make money.

  • @ReturnFromTheGrave will smith? the first album was dope and there were a couple of cuts on he's the dj... like one or two. LL every time
