When I first played blood I just fell myself like a hero... authors of this great game rally make a big work about the storyline. Voice of main hero, named Caleb, is the one of the best voice I ever heared in gaming... and soundtrack... God bless the composer - I think it's one from TOP TEN soundtrack of all time ;)

Dude, they're talking Domus Durbendia, a language made of a mix of Latin and Sanskrit. Crudux Cruo, for instance, means Fresh Blood [Crudux = Fresh, Cruo = Blood]. Marana bibox cruo malak [or malax, not sure now] means "the devil will drink mankind's blood" or something like that. You can find the whole glossary on the game's official page :3

I can't say how much I've loved this review. I accidentally stumbled across it and it looked insanely like Hexen and sorta Doom'ish so I had my hopes up and they were fulfilled.  I also liked you as a reviewer. A lot of people on YouTube review by screaming in your ears trying to be funny all the time, but you took a more laid-back but still endearing approach. I wish steam had this game. I'm 17 and I didn't grow up playing these classic shooters, but I download any that I can because in all honesty I think they're better than stuff like Modern Warfare 2. Yeah MW2 looks really pretty and nice, but it doesn't have that balls to the walls awesome factor like duke nukem and this game, not too mention doom 1 and 2. I'm talking about lighting dynamite and blowing up crap before chainsawing a zombie in half while shooting the rest with flare guns.

You can't do that with shooters nowadays. Also I don't care about nice stories, except for Max Payne. I really did like the story for Max Payne, but otherwise I care for minimilistic story. Doom 2 story is demons have taken over earth and you need to kick butt with a double barreled shotgun. That's the best story ever. Just let my imagination fill in the rest ya know. I could care less about the characters in MW2. I do care about Duke Nukem though cause he's a badass, simple as that.

The game itself is great. The build engine sucks.

It's impossible to make fine vertical adjustments to your aim. Sometimes you see an enemy just standing there, but it's impossible to snipe them because the game still thinks you're behind the wall. Even when your weapon is clearly pointed straight through the center of an opening, the shots hit the wall.

Rats can bite you from about ten feet away and are next to impossible to kill with anything but explosive/fire based weapons.

The biggest problem with playing this game is that there is no source port. Duke3d, Doom, Quake and most of the other FPS game that were for DOS now have source ports for modern computers, except for Blood.

I think this is very nice of them, unlike certain developers that threaten modders with lawsuits (3d Realms).

no kidding, you find it hard? ITs pretty easily doable on extra crispy once you know the secrets and a few tips, here are some :

different enemies have different resistances to fire/bullets/spiritual energy (voodoo doll & that skull-stick), for example the fatties that throw cleaver's and vomit all over the place are very vulnerable to fire why resilent to bullets)

Voodoo doll's alternative attack can kill ANY mid-game boss with up to 3 uses, you cant use it on anything else though.

Blood 2 didn't have the same feel. You play as Caleb in the year 2010 so everything has a futeristic look. Gameplay is still pretty much the same but killing cultist is alot funner.

The cultist language has two forms - colloquial - which is crass, sharp and terrifying and formal - which is a Latin-derivative, and even more terrifying. The cultist language is a strange combination of Latin and Sanskrit (really is, look it up!)

I play blood on multiplayer all the time. Its easy. just use dosbox. U can find dosbox for free online and blood too! But you have to have an old network to play on (IPXNET)

Then you go to dosbox and type: Ipxnet startserver. Then others can join by doing Ipxnet connect (Ip address) then go to setup and start a network game. It's a hard proscess. Just google it.

Well, I might know a few ways to get it to work. 1st run the Blood Setup file in DosBox. Go to "Sound setup" and click "choose sound card." And then you pick Gravis Ultrasound. Try running Blood agian and make sure the sound volume is up. This MIGHT work.

I think Running with Scissors POSTAL 2 is the Spiritual Sequel to Blood.

Right down to the beheadings, kicking heads, and the NAPALM Gun.

I often thought Postal 2's Engine would be perfect for another BLOOD game.
