Word of advice. When you post a cover, declare this. Here is my rendition of Drop Dead Legs. Musicians rearrange compositions all the time to make it their own.. Besides it is refreshing to here someone elses interpetation. This means there are no mistakes since you are playing it the way you want. All you need to do is just be in the ball park. You're obviously playing in a dropped D tuning. But, you need to make sure that your low E is actually in tune. Everything else is essentially in tune. The low E is what's causing you to tank this song. Make sure the low E is tuned to a D.

Additionally, you really, REALLY need to check the intonation on that guitar.....the diads you're playing on the 5th & 6th strings stretching from the 5th through the 12th fret are badly off. That may be where the problem lies.

Technically pretty good. Tone would be much better if you'd kill the reverb! Generaly IMO distortion and reverb do not go hand in hand. Those Marshall amps Eddie used had no reverb. Give it a try.

No doubt, but like on a lot of his recordings Ed used more than one guitar, Top Jimmy is another good example of of 1984. The guitar is tuned to a D7th chord except for the solo which is stanard tuning, thats why they never played it live...becasue he would have needed another guitarist on stage

eddie played this on a flying v, with no vibrato bar.. i've spent months trying the perfect the vibrato with a bar and it's impossible. When i discovered bending the note, it was a lot harder but it worked.
