Whenever I'm flying and tailing someone, it seems like they're always turning sharper than me so they're able to get behind me or just stay out of my reach even though I start turning after them right when they start. When I'm turning I always use the "brake" while turning. Is this usually how it is or am I just doing something wrong?

Don't try using the afterburners while playing on rush, these jets don't have them.

I find it easier to get kind close to a ground target and just unload on it unstead of making long attack runs. This gives you a better chance of getting double even triple kills when attacking enemy tanks because they will not have time to react. Also air radar is more effective for both air and ground combat since it shows all vehicle locations. This makes dog fights soo much better and makes ground attack runs even more effective.

@sociospartan85 I think that happens in the Thunderbolt (or whatever it is called). It's a qlitch and is really annoying. I got about 5 kills in one (which is a lot for me since I'm not good at jets) and then did not get any upgrades :-(

Could you give us some hints towards the Hardcore side of BF3?? As you know there are no 3D spotting in Hardcore. Might be a bit of a challenge to give some good hints now that I think about it :-P

after flying 90 degrees downwards, you said you use the afterburner to turn easier, but attack jets don't have an afterburner?

@EquiinoxHD correct...that was my mistake. when turning with any jet you want to maintain a 300 / +-15 / speed by tapping a on the brakes, if you need to speed up just stop tapping for a moment and your jet will speed up naturally.

Well,skilled player doesn't have to use heat seekers,gun is best,because when someone's disabled with heat seekers,they can jump out. With guns,you can easily take it down. My combination for jets is Guided Missile,Air Radar and Flares. Air Radar is good,because most of the pilots from helos I take down make it personal and always bother me with their heat seekers. Guided missile has something like zoom,and I spot using it,then I attack. If I'm far enough,I use missile than gun,if I'm close,gun.

How do you rate the WASD and directional buttons on the keyboard for flying versus the WASD + mouse?

I only just figured out dogfighting last night before watching this today- although I'm not sure how crap the enemy pilots were because it did seem ridiculously easy. Even so, I'm using most of the maneuvering techniques you've mentioned, but just with the keyboard. Wondering which one you think is better.

@wrosewarne actually i had the same question b4. I find that with mouse you can adjust your aim better. I got an advice from someone and that is to map your "pitch up" key to the space key. This way you don't have to constantly adjust your mouse after u finish ur turn

@go555ace What about for general maneuvering? I use the mouse sometimes when I'm aiming because you're right, it is easier. However, I'm concerned I may be suffering from a handicap using the keyboard to maneuver because either the input response is much less (requiring me to bash buttons to turn faster whilst holding S) than that from moving the mouse, or I'm generally being outdone by better pilots; which seem to be everywhere. Do you use the mouse for general flight/evasive maneuvers too?

@becoolavp u mean like when ur jet stalls after reaching the 1000m altitude? It happens on pc too, u just have to watch ur altitude cause when u reach around the 950+ altitude u start losing speed and ur jet will stall.

@gofuckloser Yes you can, on Xbox360, hold the "down multidirectional button" with your left tumb while looking around with the "right stick". You can if you want use your left finger to mark ennemi with the "back" button, not really confortable to mark but it helps a lot for you and your team.

ever try using the rocket pods to strafe infantry? I always have pretty good luck doing that, and it's a great way to stay actively useful on offense when there are fewer enemy tanks to shoot at (or harder to hit as is often the case in Firestorm)

One of the biggest issues that I have using the mouse to fly is that I cannot turn sharp enough because I have to constantly push the mouse forward. If I push the mouse forward I will move upwards, but once my mouse stops, I will level out and not continue moving upwards. So in order to make full turns I have to push the mouse forward, lift the mouse up and move it back to the center of the mouse pad, and then push the mouse forward again (I have to repeat this until the turn is complete).

Air radar is a must as there is no chase cam. I'd recommend getting your landing right in softcore before venturing over to hardcore. Trust me, you're going to be doing emergency landings A LOT.

@aussie836 NOPE. There is. Attack have main guns that can kill tanks with a few burst - it feels even more powerful after the patch (I may be wrong about that last one)

I LOVE defending on Kharg island on rush.

The tanks that drive out of the aircraft carrier go so slowly you can just pick them off as they drive out, and I've gotten quintuple kills because usually entire squads (or more) pack into them ;D

I'm still confused as to the point of throttling up and/or using AB in the middle of a turn; it seems like it would only increase your turn radius, especially in dogfighting or in dive bombing maneuvers like the ones you are demonstrating in this video.
