I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
this is the cleanest bay I've ever seen. Kudos for the work.
Now this is a type of engine I would love to install in my 81 Caddy pick up, any advice you can give me on the engines model and year it came out of? (car) I'm currently going on a project for my pick up. I hate having a bunch of wires and hoses in the engine bay compartment.
anyone who thinks the tapping noise is a bad thing is wrong unless its the water pump they can tap like a bitch even if its the buckets(tappits) it wont make a difference like
HATERS, also trying to find a flaw in something that's flawless. ITBS sound GREAT, you convinced me to stay N/A and get ITB over kinetic turbo kit on my 8v.
There isnt ment to be, the individual throttle body feeds air directly into the cylinders. This is what race cars used to sound like because its function over form (or in this case sound)
@wed3k the "tappy" sound is the lifters...either hydraulic with low oil pressure or solids that are ill-fitted. the presence of that sound has nothing to do with the manifold or airbox being gone, you'll hear it either way.

the engine bay is smoothed, why does a race car need a smoothed bay, I declare shenanigans

there's no intake manifold or box to resonate sound.
