I'm not going to lie, this is very moving. Some people don't have the guts to stand up for what these guys do for us. I know i am truly grateful for what they do. I have friends in the Forces and this is true....they wait for the day they can hold their baby...kiss their spouse and sleep a peaceful night. BRAVO!!! Great video. I work as Red Cross volunteer at McChord and I see the most dedicated and professionals military and can't express enough thanks for what they do on a daily basis and can only pray they return safely from their overseas tours.

@newt11kit I was being sarcastic. I support my troops, but they didn't choose the war. I had some close friends who served as a last resort to afford college but opposed the war in iraq. My friend told me iraq was not jeopardizing my freedoms or rights whatsoever, and even though I already knew this I realized how much this broke him. In WWII soldiers were proud to serve and returned home honorable. Iraq war vets rarely feel this way returning with PTSD.
I wonder how many of the people making negative comment on this video that isn't political at all, but simply honors our family, our friends and neighbors, how many of those people are throwing rocks and bottles at police, breaking windows, destroying small businesses as they "OCCUPY" various cities across our country? Being the son of a Military serviceman I'm just going to say a few things. To the person that made this video, I appreciate how you're trying to at least deliver a message to people about the severity of the sacrifice that soldiers give. To those that are dropping negative comments about these servicemen and women, the day you have a reason to fight for something, don't be surprised if someone else judges you poorly for your decision.

I also agree with you, but I think the point was mostly to just to put some perspective that we have a lot, and they while they are on tour have a completely different way of life. My boyfriend is a Canadian soldier and he forever will be plagued with memories and losses as every veteran in the world. Though he is my boyfriend... I cannot relate to his feelings at all because I wasn't there and I dont know what it's like.

I'm not going to lie, this is very moving. Some people don't have the guts to stand up for what these guys do for us. I know i am truly grateful for what they do. I have friends in the Forces and this is true....they wait for the day they can hold their baby...kiss their spouse and sleep a peaceful night. BRAVO!!! @newt11kit I was being sarcastic. I support my troops, but they didn't choose the war. I had some close friends who served as a last resort to afford college but opposed the war in iraq. My friend told me iraq was not jeopardizing my freedoms or rights whatsoever, and even though I already knew this I realized how much this broke him. In WWII soldiers were proud to serve and returned home honorable. Iraq war vets rarely feel this way returning with PTSD.

To the person that made this video, I appreciate how you're trying to at least deliver a message to people about the severity of the sacrifice that soldiers give. To those that are dropping negative comments about these servicemen and women, the day you have a reason to fight for something, don't be surprised if someone else judges you poorly for your decision.

The military is there to protect the constitution. So, answer this: when did they protect the constitution during the Iraqi war? No WMDs, no connection to 9-11... nothing.
I've never been against the soldiers and I never will be. They do as they are told and have my respect. Its those guiding them that are protested.

I also agree with you, but I think the point was mostly to just to put some perspective that we have a lot, and they while they are on tour have a completely different way of life. My boyfriend is a Canadian soldier and he forever will be plagued with memories and losses as every veteran in the world. Though he is my boyfriend... I cannot relate to his feelings at all because I wasn't there and I dont know what it's like.

People who protest the war, don't protest the soldiers, they protest the governments for sending the soldiers there in the first place. Why did the US invade Iraq? WMDs? Oil? Who knows. Wow reading some of the comments ignorant people have written. No they are right no one FORCED them to sign the papers but they did it to make sure they were always on hand to help when needed!!! Take Haiti for instance or even Japan where those conturies got hit hard with disaster and it was OUR TROOPS who were out there helping them!!! My husband is in the Canadian Forces and i am ssooo proud of him every single day for getting up putting on those combats!

Wow, I didn't realize it was this bad. I still will resist the pledge because of religious things, but I will try to keep the soldiers in my heart while the pledge is going, instead of praising the flag like a zombie who doesn't understand the purpose of reciting those words. i am a britsh soilder due to be delpoyed soon, i would like to say this is an acurate video but it is not regadless of our army country or unit. each person is given at least 2days off a week to recover.i have proudly trained with american soilders and you have a strong army but there is a lot that needs to change, you need to look inside your army to see the failing not at what its doing. respect and god speed to all those serving, britsh american,polish,dutch,french,itilian and german.

I cannot believe what I just read from daregirl12! Start another war...No support those who are keeping you safe and warm without fear of waking up with a gun in YOUR face. You must be very young and have not seen much terror. The USA used to be an example of freedom, but your comments show that we are not united and need to take a second look at what is going on within our country where our youth cannot even spell correctly and are easily manipulated and not able to think for themselves.

I don`t agree with the war but I admire the soldiers for being over there and fighting this war, especially when I wouldn`t. Whether or not we agree with what the war stands for we should still back up our american citizens.

For christ sake.. this war is the most ridiculous. You know, many of us were in other wars and never got this kind of attention. When I came back in '92 from the friggin gulf, I was spat on because I was a soldier in that war. Jesus christ how many of these videos do you people need to create? We all suffer in our own ways and you know, not everyone overseas is stuck in a rut. There is only a very small percentage of soldiers who are in harms way.

I feel sorry for all the men and women killed in Iraq, but i can not for one second feel sorry for the USA. You have nothing to do in Iraq! All that talk about weapons of mass destruction was bullshit, that there were trainingcamps for terrorist was bullshit, that talk about "rights in america" is bullshit! What country will you invade next? Because there are more countrys in the world, and everyone is a potential threat to you and your "way of life". Will you invade everything?

Wow I love this video especially the part about "He holds his letter close, and smells his love's perfume" I cried like a baby. My bf is in Boot Camp and I always spray my letters and he loves it so it reminds me of him :(
