  • I would never have this system on a hiking boot - I'm guessing you would need two of those spool/crank things if you wanted to keep a different tention on the top and lower part of a boot. More stuff on your boot = more chance to malfunction.

If they break in the field, you are f*cked unless you have spares. With traditional lacing systems, if a eyelet/hook breaks, you bypass it. If a lace breaks, you can use any old cord.

  • @lockheed123 This just makes me laugh. Do some research on boa technology before you assume its going to fail. Boa lacing is amazing and while not for everyone, it works for most. Many ski and snowboard boots utilize the same technology. It is aircraft grade material.

  • @nomadicexplorers

I can understand the merits of this system. I would not mind it on my running, casual or skiing boots/shoes. It would be helpful for a triathlete as well as it can be quicker to adjust. I was only expressing my main concerns:

    - if the BOA reel fails, the wholes system fails. - Laces are more hardy

    - if any part needs replacing, you must use BOA or very specific parts. - Laces are flexible

I don't think they will be a big hit with tactical or even mountaineering boots tho

  • wait, what people still use flimsy string to tie their shoes that is so 1800's. string Shoe laces are inferior boa is superior. stronger, no frayed ends, the laces are made of "super high strength steel fibers and polymer coating", and I can tie them with one hand. and the system will last longer then the shoe does. I bet the people that call these retarded also think the internet is just a fad, and a series of tubes.

  • Awesome shoes and very cool laces. Mine held up through out their life. But i've heard alot of other people having problems with the crank. Wouldn't want them to break when out in the bush. Should be aluminum parts instead of plastic. I'm still getting another pair. Just got to be gentle and don't turn counter-clockwise.

  • For those of you that flunked learning how to tie your shoes in pre-school.

  • sweet

  • i don't have these particular shoes but the auto lacing system works really well. the system works for the life of the shoe and it will never come undone. this is very good if you're running trails hiking or even weight lifting.

  • BOA RULES!!!

  • I bought these at Altrec dot com and have been wearing them for a while now. Function preceeds form with a few of North Face's footwear products. Altrec has a good selection of these.

  • Thats a sweet little mechanism to have break 10 miles down a trail...

  • the north face rule

  • Ugly shoes, especially how that nob just sticks out in the back of it. All they have to do now is change the style of the shoe, make the laces look normal, have an intenral, waterproof powered motor to execute the mechanism, and a sensor to tell when you put your shoes on and some hidden button to press when you want it off.

  • i have this shoes like 10 years a go... this is old shit!

  • what the fuck?

  • What happens when the thing at the back breaks?

  • looks like a camera. shit.

  • sorry that's a rip of a puma disc trainers done the 1990s only differnce is the wind up at the back of the shoe.

  • ye olde shoes

  • Wasn't this on Back To The Future II

  • no those were nike power laces and you just pushed one button and it did the rest then the little nike light came on. don't ever question me on BTTF trilogy lmao

  • very nice

  • All that fancy stuff justs makes the shoe heavy.

  • This was evented a long time before, Gizmondo.

Burton or Nitro are already using this system for their Snowboots...

  • nice invention

you can make a lot crapy shoes

  • omg, thoseare old, theyr on my snowboarding shoes, and they are about 3 years old....

  • Those shoes make it sound like your farting... A lot.

  • I'm sorry, that just looks kinda stupid

  • it wasnt reebok that did it years ago, it was Puma. called the puma disc. it didnt catch on because they broke easily and looked gay.

  • those look very very fragile

  • are you as humans getting that lazy sad sad sad

  • didnt reebok do this years ago?

  • Retard shoes. haha ..Its like a modernized version of velcro! click click

  • In 1932 A Girl was Raped And She Said Hei Do Laki Before She DIed. IF You Dont Repost This In 5 Topics She Will Appear By Your Bed With Glowing Red Eyes And Stare At You Until YOu Fall ASleep

  • You are awesome. Funny as hell.

  • Can't say no to free pussy!

  • I saw these in the store a couple of months ago. The plastic dial that you turn looks really cheap and seems to be the weak point of the shoe. The salesperson agreed with me that it was a dumb idea.

  • yayyyy

    those'll last ya two weeks

before they break like the pieces of junk they are

  • I like that but the colors seems crappy.

  • ....tats just old...is like T-MAC 5 but in a crappy looking style, oh wait.. is different _ _"

  • Oh the kids with OCD are going to love this!!

  • CUTE...

  • o.o I want those!! Sheesh why didnt i think of it first!?

  • lol i would never buy shoes like that and the sound of that knob turnin cracked me up

  • dork shoe

  • retarded shoe, i'd rather have the laces, wat if the strings break, what then?! huh?! /:{

  • that is so cool, i hate shoelaces. Now all they need is a device that does that, but for your nuts..

  • puma disc ripoff from the 90's anyone?

  • I was about to say that myself.

It's been done before, but nice nonetheless

  • plenty of cycling shoes with the same idea. Spin to Win.

  • They have just taken 'technology' thats been used in motorbiking boots for years and transferred it to normal shoes!

  • this is just nonsense ok, NONSENSE

  • Greatest youtube comment in history hahaha

  • just another thing to fuck with. great. now do they hover?

  • at least its innovative.

  • so...what happens if the laces break?

  • these shoes are for retards who cant tie their shoe-laces

  • yeah, it takes longer to set the conrols than to tie your shoe. its a complete FAG shoe. only retards would buy it.

  • I'm a "FAG" and I would buy a pair, but, ofcourse I CAN buy a pair. FAGS have more disposable income than breeders, and we are everywhere. I would even buy you a pair, since anyone using the word "FAG" probably couldn't tie their shoes, anyway.

  • i would buy this.

  • NERD!

  • faggot! lol seriously though. would u actually bye those and wear them with pride. no offense on the faggot part

  • pride has nothing to do with it... i would wear them for exercise without worrying about having to bend over and retie my shoe laces hence disrupting my rhythm. no matter how well i tied my shoe laces there's always the odd chance they'll come undone during a long run...

  • aww, i thought he was gonna push a button.. nevermind

  • those r kinda gay

  • haha those are reeaaaal fucking gay

  • this is good for lik eold people, i would buy a pair if they have it in like nike shox or jordans.

  • I have one the North Face trail Running shoes, and its the most comfortable pair i have worn, trust me i know i have love buying runnning shoes. If your looking for a pair of good durable shoes, go with north face, its worth every penny.

  • ähhmm... puma produced some of those choese bevor 3 or 4 years...

  • I wouldn't buy a pair, but they rly kick ass.

  • err....ok

  • Nerdy

  • where can i get one

  • sweet

  • Seems like a lot of people here don't do any sports. So they don't get the use of shoes like this.

  • hehe

    cool

  • I like

  • OMG its like the back to the future shoes just not automatic!

  • LOL I'd love to see the automatic jacket sold with those shoes. XD

  • Back to the future 2. lol.

  • r u lol-ing just because he didnt add the number 2 after back to the future?

  • no, just because the fact that he meantioned it. the whole 'power laces' and auto fitting jacket thing. good stuff.

  • yeah sombody should make that jacket, and they should probaly market more as a novelty until it catches on and then start make serius ones

  • LOL THEY DONT WORK!!! THEY COME UNLOOSE!! Hhahaha how shit are those

  • how do u know they come unloose? in the video he pulled out the knob which undid the winding
