  • I just bought a new leather chair.... I bought a new scratching post, and he loves it.....as for the chair I put tin foil on it and on the tin foil i put grape fruit peels..... he seems to stay away from it so far.... he is allowed every where accept the new chair. he doesnt normally scratch furniture

  • trust me you don't wanna declaw your cat..,,I didn't know any better and declawed mine and now he acts differently than he used to...it's almost like he's depressed. DONT make the same mistake I did!

  • that advice is great, but theres something really important that you forgot to mention: cats dont like new stuff. if youre bringing a new cat to your home, make sure you place the scratcher first wherever you want it to be!! if your cats been in your house for a while and you buy a new scratcher, it prolly wont use it. its too new, its never been there before. its alien. boo. it prolly wouldnt start using it till like 1 year later if youre lucky.

  • One answer for cat scratching : Soft Claws!!!!! You can buy them on line and at your local pet supply store! They're claw caps, sort of like shoes for nails that are plastic and smooth. They last up to 6 weeks and its totally painless for your cat. My sister uses them on her indoor cats. It will save your furniture!

  • if you chose to declaw your cat you shouldnt have one in the first place

  • dood, i wanted a cat my whole life rite, my parents finally said i kan get a cat but under the terms i get it declawed, I know declawing is inhumane (I think so my self-i don't think its fair at all) but if i provide it a good invirement and take car of it and do WHAT I CAN, won't I deserve to have a cat??? I'm really worried about getting it declawed, don't the anastetic's even cause possible retardation in cats??? This ain't really fair on my part...

  • heh, maybe someone should of declawed you... teh...

  • @KCHCvideos Your parents need education about declawing. It actually causes physical and psychological issues, leading to higher aggression in cats, and because they can't scratch, they then bite. Declawing serves no purpose to the cat and is more for human convenience. In fact most countries have outlawed declawing simply because of animal cruelty. You're right, it is inhuman. I hope you're able to convince your parents that declawing a cat is not an option for responsible cat ownership :)

  • @KCHCvideos -Get it Soft Claws! They're nail caps! Don't declaw its very painful and very inhumane!
